Beautiful place with lush green country side and swaying palm trees on one side, and golden..... Cocktails sitting on the beach, can get very crowded with tourists especially Russian and POMS like myself looking to get a tan.Visiting the waterfall which is about 2-3hrs away but worth it. Crowded ,but beautiful in the same breath. The views of the mountains, so clear would be the best..... Crowded ,but beautiful in the same breath. The views of the mountains, so clear would be the best then my ride on the Toy train, even though it kept breaking down every few minutes followed by eating Momo's. The worst would be the toilets at the loop the loop and at Ghoom train station, please don't use either. More » « Hide

Very congested with people and traffic, but still good to visit for that shopping bargain if your prepared to barter,Queen Victoria Memorial still beautiful to see as well as the sun setting over the river Hooghly in between both Howrah bridges, Nov-Feb being the best mo0nths to visit. Beautiful location on the Mall but can be a bit of a challenge to walk up the incline, especially if you are a little out of shape like myself. Beautiful logfires available for 150 rupees, good on a cold night, courteous staff and great coffee/toast/jam for breakfast. We were lucky to see spectacular clear views of the mountains the best I have seen in 28 years for the 2 days we spent in Darjeeling. Room size was large, Deluxe family Suite that we had, had a queen bed and 2 singles. More » « Hide

The room we had was large and beautiful, with a view overlooking the pond, but my son and his... .. The room we had was large and beautiful, with a view overlooking the pond, but my son and his wife ws given the best room overlooking the beautiful swimming pool with both having large balconies and the beds was the most comfortable beds I have slept on, especially for somebody like myself with a bad back. The close proximity to Baga Beach, Restaurants and many shops as well as Tito\'s Nightclub just around the corner you could easily stagger home after some great partying. More » « Hide
