From the places we visited Talacauvery can be rated the best. Known more because it is the birth-place for river Cauvery, we also liked the wonderful views from the view-point located a couple hundred steps above the temple. The Namdroling monastery at Bylakuppe (Kushalanagar) was another place we liked. The amazing colours used and the natural lighting inside the temple was particularly amazing. More » « Hide

(http://wikimapia.org/13949742/Polaycad-Bungalow-Mr-Robin-Mrs-Mallige-Cariappa) As has been written in several earlier reviews Mr & Mrs Cariappa play good hosts. The home-stay itself is located in a quiet location, best if you want to spend some time with nature. Also good for honeymoon couples. I might have added more negative things in my review which may be because both families had kids. Our overall experience was not bad though. More » « Hide

There is not much to do there except taking a canoe ride in the evenings and oil-massage. There isnt too much open area to take a walk either. Having said that, we (a 31 year young me, my wife and my 6 year old son) really enjoyed our 30 hours stay there. We stayed in an AC room (we dreaded Kerela\'s humidity) but the AC was not needed too much around the chistmas season. There was a cool breeze all the time. Every cottage has a hammock outside tied between two coconut trees. Our neighbours (a newly wed couple) did not use the hammock so we had 2 at our disposal. Swinging on these hammocks was our pastime and we enjoyed it a lot!!!! The resort is actually a small property located on two small islands in the backwaters, the islands are seperated by a small canal. You need to frequently use a boat to go from one island to the other - most cottages are on one island and the dining area is on the other one. There is a lake around 0.5 KMs from the resort that you can visit on your canoe ride in the evenings. The backwaters opening into the big lake is a beautiful sight! We would certainly want to visit the place again for 2 full days in one of the colder months. It is fun just being lazy :) More » « Hide
