As I put my comments on Facebook, that morning, its not very often that you get the luxury of "...waking up to the symphony of cock a doodle do, morning prayers from distant mosque, donkey brays and a cacophony of massive variety of birds and chirping squirrels." We reached this place in the forenoon, and before day end, the thought crossed my mind that we have got more than our money's worth already. This is the place to be if you are a serious wildlife enthusiast. But be careful, and Mrs. Malik, the owner's wife will justly warn you too, of cacophonous tourists sharing the jeep to safari - they could and would scare asses away !! More » « Hide

Of the two places we visited this time in Gujarat - this was extremely fruitful and did certainly deliver more than was promised. Although we did not miss not having the much advertised wifi connectivity to my wife's iPad, it was largely compensated by Kunal's experienced guidance to the marine life, and Mustak's quips and identification of birds at Khijadia. The wildlife wardens are doing a splendid job too in maintaining the parks, and Mustak and Kunal are certainly contributing hugely to the awareness of wildlife conservation in and around Jamnagar. A neat place to stop by, onward from Delhi on NH58. One would reach this place just before dark... .. A neat place to stop by, onward from Delhi on NH58. One would reach this place just before dark on a normal speed and breaks, so pretty appropriately situated. The food is normal and we liked it. Not spicy and easy on the stomach during long journeys. Not much of a variety with food which is okay. The rooms are a bit crammed but so is most hotels in this stretch. Like most hotels in this part of the country, hot water takes eternity to flow. The hotel reminds of the pathetic complacency of hoteliers. Be extra cautious about the rooms... .. The hotel reminds of the pathetic complacency of hoteliers. Be extra cautious about the rooms you choose - the one in which we stayed was one of their best, and had 3 of the windows broken. So in the extreme cold, and dry weather, it may be unsafe. They do have room heaters, but are fairly basic ones - the ones that are good to heat up a small 2*2 sqft corner. More » « Hide
