Gopalpur, Orissa Somen, Kolkata, Posted Date: 6th January 2012 I went to Gopalpur-on-Sea in the christmas time.Its the peak season there and a lot of bengalis..... I went to Gopalpur-on-Sea in the christmas time.Its the peak season there and a lot of bengalis used to travel there who doesnt want the hustle and bustle of Puri. Gopalpur is slightly costlier than Puri in terms of accomodation and transport (mainly in peak season).Its a destination where you can enjoy fresh food,great sea to bath,peaceful holiday,etc. There are few accomodations in form of resorts and hotels which are very costly and not at all budget.Being a budget traveller, I prefer Hotel Holiday Home which is situated in the heart of the Sea Beach and I would say it is located in the best location for perfect sea view along with few other hotels like Hotel SeaBreeze and Hotel Sea Pearl. Do book your hotels before going Gopalpur, otherwise in peak season they will charge much high than the hotel rates. One most interesting thing I found in Gopalpur is that the sea turns to golden brown in the late morning from 9am onwards.We never miss taking snaps and its a treat to eyes.The beach is clean and water tides are perfect for swimming and bathing.Its a place where one can find peace,good and healthy food. I will suggest a sea beach lover to come to Gopalpur on Sea and witness the real golden sea as I never seen such a sea in Bay of Bengal coast in India. More » |
