One of the famous shrine with natural Shivalingam formed from ice

Visited Amarnath Shrine in 2010. There are 2 routes one is via Baltal and another is via Pahalgam. From Baltal its distance is 14 kms and from Pahalgam it is 40 Kms. You can take helicopter from either route. It's located in Anantnag District at height of 3, 888 mts. It's one the famous hindu shrine. Inside the cave there is natural Shivalingam formed from ice. It's believed that Lord Shiva narrated Goddess Parvati Amar Katha here.

Route is amazing filled with natural beauty

The trek to Amarnath Cave from Pahalgam is amazing. It's full of natural beauty. Must have good shoes, warm clothes, some source of energy like Candies, Glucose, Honey etc and a Camera. Start as early as possible in the morning to reach a warm place by nightfall. It took as 9 hours of walk to reach the Cave. Food is available for free at most of the places.

Marvellous place

Need more and more discipline en-route to Holy cave and cleanliness. No space to stand in front of cave when you are in queue. After entering to shrine premises, you feel relax. Indian army has maintained the discipline, water supply etc.

Rides are available, food also provided

It was a great experience. Although it is a difficult journey, but adventurous people like it most. for the first time, I walked on snow, ride on horse there. You get all Indian food there for free in langer, Amarnath cave, Amaravati river and pigeons in the cave were amazing. You must carry warm clothes and raincoat. A proper medical checking is must before going there. There may be network problem, so manage accordingly.

Feeling blessed

I was one of the lucky people to visit the god's home. It was very natural place with unbelievable atmosphere. Ice was laying everywhere and it looks like as if some architect has designed the godly place. I kept on looking to the beauty and piousness of the place.
