I visited Katra in the month of June 2016. I booked my stay directly. This was a holiday trip with family Overall experience was good. Parking facility was available. Room was clean and spacious. The location of the hotel was within the city. Food was available over there. Service was on time. Complimentary food was not provided. Extra activities were not available. WiFi facility was not available.
I had visited this hotel with my family. The overall service of the hotel was good. There were no activities arranged by this hotel. The food was nice and only vegetarian dishes served. The food was value for money. All amenities were working well in the room. The room was clean and spacious. The garden was available in the hotel. The behaviour of the staff's was good. The appearance of the hotel was good. The hotel was located in the city. The parking place was good.
It was okay. Not a very great experience. The room was vacated 2 hours late by the previous occupants. We booked it for 2 days. It was supposed to be allotted at 12:00 pm. We reached 11:30 a. M. But had to wait for 2. 5 hours as some formalities. Over that the impolite behaviour made me angry.
Opted for deluxe rooms and it was big and spacious. Went in an off season so managed to get some discount too. Rooms are not modern but has LCD TV and heater in it. Bathrooms need an upgrade. The service is good and the reception is always helpful with valuable inputs. Helped me with taxi booking at some low rates. Would recommend it.
The Hotel Ambica is one of the very known hotel and it was a two day trip of our family to Katra for Mata ke darshan. We had booked this hotel online and we had a seamless check in as well food was very good. The rooms were not very large however sufficient for 2 adults and a kid.
This hotel is situated near the main bus stand in the Katra city. The view of the mountains from the hotels is just waaoh. The main entrance of the hotel is not so luxurious. It's basically a budget friendly hotel where one can get good food and some entertainment. The rooms were spacious enough and were clean and tidy also. A TV with a DTH connection was also available in the room. Its service was quite good actually. There used to be a power cut between 7 am to 8 am. Beside it I was quite satisfactory from the overall service of the hotel. So if you want a budget friendly hotel in Katra while Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Ji, this can be a good option for you.
I stayed in this hotel. It's a very near to Katra taxi stand. From hotel to Mata Vaishnodevi Yatra entry gate is at walking distance. It's inside Katra town with parking and open garden facility. I stayed in family room. Room is very spacious with furniture and good natural light. Attached Bath and toilet is also very spacious. Staff were very cooperative and in well-discipline. Reception area is good with large waiting space. I didn't take food so, I can't say anything. Overall, hotel is excellent to stay with family.
Room cleaning was not done on daily basis, in the morning even the hot water for bathing is not provided. In the washroom there was no geysers. During the rain solar geysers do not work and we are left with no option. Manager do not have any manners to talk to their esteemed customers.
Though the room felt a little cramped, it was clean and comfortable. The Bath and toilet area could have been slightly bigger. Room service was very good, and the food tasted really nice. I especially loved the neer dosa with veg stew. Buffet breakfast does not have much variety. The sambar was watery on both days of my stay. Overall slightly expensive but comfortable option for short stay.
Rooms are quite bigger with very helpful staff. Stayed here for 2 nights and didn't find any problems. The hotel is located in the market area and is very clean. The staff also helped with taxi bookings at reasonable rates. Will surely recommend it if looking for decent hotel. I personally will surely visit again.
