Udaipur is the lake city of Rajasthan and as historically intertwined with the history as it can get. With Jaipur, Jaisalmer and Jodhpur it forms the essential quartet of Rajasthan As a tourist destination it is an excellent choice. One pleasant surprise was the sheer amount of vegetation - it was so much more than the image of desert one carries in mind while thinking of Rajasthan. All the numerous lakes get their waters annually from the rains and the land is so kind as to maintain it for the whole year - for ages. It's Palaces, Museums and gardens make it a pleasant place to stroll around Of course, the barren hills and vast expanses of desolate land and the lands of Adivasis are not far away Our stay was at Ananta Spa and Resorts. It is slightly removed from the main city and one has to pass through the picturesque route around the Fateh Sagar lake to and beyond to reach the resort but the journey is worth it. Once inside the resorts you are in a different world. It is spread around on a vast hill and they use constantly plying internal cabs to reach from one point to another. The reception area is amongst extremely pleasant ones with water circulation around it. It must be very soothing even in summer - the off season. Cottages are spread around the hill and more are under construction. It does isolate you from the fury of daily life. The rooms are spacious and the linen exquisite. The construction style is rural Rajasthani and that adds to the elegance. The staff is modern professional and the plying of cabs add to the dynamics in a inciting manner. A good breakfast paves the way for the long day a tourist is sure to have and Ananta is top notch in that - I do warn that they are going to spoil you because after having their breakfast your standards are going to be extremely high. I do not use Spa or the pool and there was no time for gym but the stay was quite pleasant.
After a wonderful experience in Ananta Pushkar, I was hoping the same when I planned a trip to Ananta Udaipur with my family and friends. But, I was disappointed. The front office was great but I couldn't quite get used to the planning of the resort. Independent villas are constructed up and down the hilly area whereas all the facilities are below near the reception area except the swimming pool which was luckily near to our villa . . Every time when we needed to go anywhere, be it the restaurant or the parking area, we had to call a van for pick and drop. Room service was carried out in the similar manner. The buffet breakfast and dinner was nowhere near to our experience at Ananta Pushkar. There was no taste, no variety, even no one bothered to refill the empty bowls. I complained to the staff as the amount they charged for the buffet was very high as compared to the quality and service. I don't understand how can two similar resorts of the same company can be so different. Anyways we enjoyed with our family and kids as the villas were very good and maintained.
This is a fairly new resort located about 40mins from the main city and about 1. 5 hours from the airport... This huge resort is spread over 40-50mg acres of land.. The resort has a scenic beauty, mountainous terrain and one can see sajjangarh fort from the resort. The resort has cars to pick n drop you from reception to the room. The rooms are a delight to stay in! Each suite room is about 350-400mg sq feet room with beautiful interiors and a hall and a bedroom. The bathroom is spacious and has a facility for a open air shower yet protected and private... This was a novelty! Never seen an open air shower attached to each room which ensures that your shower doesn't become a public one! The food is yummy and they have hospitable staff. All in all, a wonderful stay for the perfect relaxation getaway.
Location of the hotel was good. Hotel was conveniently located. I went there in my own car. Inner and outer look of the hotel was nice. Check-in and check-out process was not delayed. Hotel was redecorated and maintained. Staff behaviour was helpful and friendly. Whenever you required anything, they served you quickly. Rooms were spacious, neat and clean. We can see a nice view from hotel rooms. TV and fridge were there. AC facility was also there. Food was available and it was delicious. Quality and quantity wise, food was tasty. Both veg and non-veg dishes were served in the hotel. I had no issue about food facility there. Garden and swimming pool were there but gym was not there. I went there in the month of August 2014 with my family for relaxation. Overall, the destination was best.
It is very big and good resort. Location is little outside from city but for holiday purpose it is good. Hotel appearance is good, reception looks are good. Room service is also very good. Everything in resort is best.
