Calm Waters & Cool Breeze
One place not be missed during your stay in Munnar is Anayirankal Lake. This place has to be one of the most silent & mesmerising lake that I have seen. The calm waters & cool breeze just took us to another world which we had never experienced. The best part of this lake is not too crowded, as I guess not too many people go there or know about it. You have to try the 15 minutes speed boat ride which can accommodate 5 adults or kids & can be enjoyed only just for about Rs. 750 per ride (for all 5 persons). Life jackets are provided by the staff & compulsorily to be worn before the ride. The cool wind blowing on to your face had to be the highlight of our holiday. As the speed boat zoomed around the lake, the driver showed us 4 Elephants which were happily grazing near the banks of the lake. The driver also showed us the local tribal tree house & also showed one of the tribal fishing in the lake.

Awesome place to visit
Good place to hangout with friends if you are in Kerala. Have atleast one day in your life to spare in Idukki. Go and visit Anayirangal Dam.. Nothing other than that.

A very interesting tourist spot
Anayirangal Dam is 12 km away from Munnar town. We 7 member team visited this sight on 13th April 2016. The attraction is Electric motor boating facility is available in the Anayirangal lake. We just had an 15 minutes trips through the lake by using the boat facility.. The entry fee is Rs. 150/- per head for 15 minutes boat journey but very interesting. This bot journey facility has started recently. The Anayirangal Dam is very near to this boating place. This Dam is functioning under Kerala State Electricity Board. But maintenance is very poor. One of the Underground water tunnel Dam in a beautiful forest sight. The Name board of the Dam has not update hence very difficult to locate it. But we tried and visited Dam and met the Supervisor who looking after the Dam day to day to features. No tourists coming to the Dam top because of the non maintenance. It is a very interesting tourist spot. We enjoyed the sight.
