Aquarium Bangalore, home to varied marine species, is situated at the entrance of Cubbon Park in an octagonal-shaped building. The second largest aquarium in India, it has several species of indigenous and exotic fish and is a major attraction of the city.
Inaugurated in 1983, the aquarium has three floors, where numerous edible and ornamental fish breeds are on display. The first floor of the aquarium houses 14 big tanks, where the larger cultivable fish varieties are displayed. The second floor is divided into two rows for medium sized and small tanks for close observation of multi-coloured fish species.
