Average place to visit

Only place having an improvement in Araku.-Showcases a tribal village.-Just adequately maintained.Nothing exotic.-Chocolates of flavours available.-Paddle boating available for Rs. 20 per head.-Arrow shooting- Rs. 15 for 5 arrows. Crude but ok.-Souvenirs available but exorbitantly priced.Final Verdict - The staff and the people of Araku are not proud of their place and heritage. Hence no efforts from their side to contribute to the tourism experience. However they are greedy and would love to make money by selling just 1 item.

Beautiful valley but Museum doesn't have anything interesting to see

I visited this museum in the follow of the visitings in Araku. When I entered into this I didn't find any special things in the "museum just the statues like in position sitting and working, that's it". So I suggest the visitors to visit other places than this visiting time such as "Valley Gardens, Borra Caves, Waterfalls, Bamboo Chicken Corner". The entry ticket is just 10/- if wished to visit if time permits only not compulsory.

Araku Museum of Tribal culture

When we went to the museum it was almost evening and we were so excited with the way the museum, when we saw it. The museum was not with high ticket rate it is reasonable. It is when entered we felt that we entered into a new place where a new tribe people habit was feeled by us. There are statues which resemble the real Tribal people where we can see in the olden days, their work habits, food habits, the way they lead their life in the olden days. After that we returned to the hotel and we had a dance with the lambadis out there which is not available in the city culture.

History of the tribals

The museum walks us through the tribal customs of Eastern Ghats, showing the rich ethnic traditions and numerous relics. The human forms are natural and life-like. During the tourist season, the tribals even perform the traditional Dhimsa dance in the evenings to entertain tourists. There is a booth where handiwork items of tribes are available.
