Arthur Lake Overview

Ranked 1 of 10 sightseeing in Bhandardara

Arthur Lake is also popularly known as Lake Arthur Hill and is formed due to the water coming from Pravara River. This lake is covered by dense forest and holds religious importance, as Agastya Rishi meditated at this place continuously for over a year. Constructed in 1910, Arthur Lake acts a reservoir for the nearby Wilson Dam.

This lake is around 34 km long and features rivulets, named Randha Falls that come down from over 45 m height. The waterfall has been used by the government for generating hydro power. Tourists can enjoy boating at this lake, which is considered to be the chief transportation option available for travelling to the nearby Bari and Ratanwadi villages.

Serene Place To Unwind And Soak In The Natural Beauty

We are a travel couple & love to explore new places & things. On this long weekend trip, it was our 2nd day in Nashik & we decided to visit the Bhandardara dam. Since it was October there were no rains & so the Dam was also not having much of water. We decided to move further & we came across this beautiful sight of Arthur Lake. The very first sight of this place and we both fell in love with it. The levels of water, the lush green scenery, views of mountains, pristine blue waters, we were mesmerized by the view. One can setup up a tent very close to the waters. There is an option of boating here & trust me it was worthwhile. You can take the option of paddle boating at 100/- pp or motorboat 200/- pp. It is very easy to miss the lake as not many tourists know about this spot.It was a beautiful experience and a must for nature lovers.

The place has its own charm and serenity

The place has its own charm and serenity. The shade of the clouds in the gleaming, shimmering waters is really soothing. Bhajjiyas and tea and coffee stalls nearby. A romantic and worthwhile visit.

Superb lake view

The lake is definitely worth a visit. Especially because of its isolated location which you can drive up to. The place is just to yourself. There are no disturbing activities on the lake so you can just enjoy the serene beauty and fresh weather at the lake. No food options available nearby so stuff yourself before venturing out.
