Visit Babulnath to seek the blessings of Mahadev

This is a beautiful temple and a very old one too. You have to climb a few stairs to reach the temple. But for people who find that difficult, there is nothing to worry. There is a lift available to take you up to the temple and back. The charges are very nominal, one rupee per person. The temple has an amazing atmosphere and gives you a feeling of peace and quite.

Temple Visit

This temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is one of the oldest in Mumbai, In shravan month, there is lot of rush on Mondays. As fully covered Shivalinga with butter is made. There are steps to climb to reach temple. It is on main road. Easy to go by bus taxi etc.

One of the most popular temples in Mumbai

Babulnath temple is one of the most popular temples in Mumbai. It is mainly a lord shiva temple and as such there can be huge queues during shivratri etc. Barring these days, the temple is not very crowded. For elderly people and anyone who has difficulty climbing stairs, there are lifts. Parking might be a challenge around the area so I would recommend going by a taxi.

Temple has great architecture

I visited this temple with my cousin who lives in Mumbai during the day trip of Mumbai city. This temple is located on the hill which is mainly covered with the trees of babul and so the reason why this temple is also named as Babulnath Mandir. The temple is maintained neatly, the god present here is lord Shiva and there is no heavy crowd at the time of visit. Special puja will be conducted on Mondays and at Shivaratri time and this temple has great architecture. I mostly loved the nature around this temple which is with deep greenery and this temple is also very beautiful with the pigeons and local birds here in the temple, which take offerings of the devotees who visit this temple. I recommend everyone to visit this temple and have a pleasant and peace of mind away from the city traffic and pollution. Don't forget to offer grains to the birds here as to develop more birds population here as a human being in order to promote nature.

Beautiful temple

This temple is located just 9 km away from the Mumbai city and on a small hill which is full of babul trees on that hill. This is the temple of "Lord shiva" and those trees is the reason for which this temple is named after that tree only. As "Babulnath temple". To reach temple it takes 10min of walk. But lift facility is also available for the visitor at a charge of just 2/-. The temple is neatly maintained by the local people. The special time to visit this temple is on mondays, there will be heavy crowd. And this temple also has natural view like by having birds, much greenery around the temple. The visitors who visit this also offer grains and some other seeds to the birds present here. Overall, I had a great memorable experience here on visit.

Holiest God Shiva temple surrounded by Babul Trees

I visited this place with friends as on trip to Mumbai and when I reached this temple it looked very old "of like 17th century as it is not well-maintained". It is located on a small hill which is "full of Babul Trees" and so this temple is also named after the tree name as i. e, "Babulnath Mandir". It is the "holiest hindu temple of God Lord Shiva". The good time to "visit the temple is on Monday" as on that day "special aarti will be given" to the god. But at last when returning "don't forget to offer grains for Pigeons at temple"..

Biggest and Oldest Temple of Lord Shiva

This is most famous, big and oldest temple of Lord Shiva at Chowpatty in South Mumbai on a hillock. This is temple of our Kuldevi so I visited 3rd time in this year and at present in pious Shravan Month. Must visit place of devotee of Lord Shiva. On famous Maha Shivratri, thousand devotee of Lord Shiva stands in a queue from previous night. Beside main temple of Lord Shiva, there are temples of Virat Swaroop-Lord Krishna etc. Definitely a worth visit place for devotees of Lord Shiva when they are in Mumbai.

Best Babulnath Mandir ever

It is good place in Mumbai and pray to Lord Shiva for betterment in future life. Many people came far away to pray and do aarti. On Wednesday a big queue of people for darshan. Babulnath Temple is very old temple. Lord Hanuman and Shiva are placed in the temple. The temple has its own past history. The place is refreshing and feeling nice at the top of the temple.
