A beautiful malayalam song outlines the mesmerizing beauty of Idukki and I would say that Bison Valley is the feather in the cap of Idukki virgin beauty. Unlike Munnar, this place is thankfully less know and hence the tourists you find here are mostly nature-lovers and trekking teams. A perfect compliment to this beautiful region of cocoa and cardamom plantations is The BAMBOO DALE Resort. Strategically placed for people who prefer being in nature's lap, sleep by the lull of the waterfall, wake up to birds humming and experience the monsoon just the way it should be. Refreshing! Adding to the location is the aesthetics of this beautiful resort's construction. Trust me, you'll fall in love with bamboo if you were to visit this resort. You should go there and see it to experience it. True to it's name, bamboo dale offers you an amazing crash course on the utilities and creative applications of this largest member of the grass family. Bamboo Dale resort reminds me of the surprise gift boxes packed one inside the other. While you are still amazed with the down-to-earth homely look of the resort's entrance view, you'll be amazed at the modern touch to the interiors with bamboo work in every nook and corner. Not just the beauty, but also the utility quotient of the design's aspect is what makes it feel like the perfect beginning of a real holiday! There's more to this resort than just the building and that will surely overwhelm you with joy. It's like a fairy's secret garden right in your backyard, complete with a walk in the woods, amongst sweet smelling flowers, splash of colours on the flower bed, humming of bees, adorable thatched roof toadstool-like huts with mushroom farming, interesting apiary along the path and lo and behold. An enchanting waterfall and stream. Just for you! Honestly, for any nature-lover the feeling is much above than a private swimming pool or even a private beach, if I may daresay. The best part is that the nature walk trail is constructed in such a way that the old and young could traverse the path safely and at the same time, it doesn't take away anything from the natural beauty of the place. The food is equally delightful, given the fact that it is completely organic produce and you could even take the farm's tour or "fish your own fry" to know where it all comes from. Both the vegetarian and non vegetarian fare is equally good. The ambience of the place is very well balanced and maintained owing to the select accommodation promising personalized service to the delight of each and every guest. The recreation corner is also well planned with some indoor games and books. While you are there, don't miss out on the interesting musical instrument made of bamboo and a few other curios on display. Spend a night by the bonfire or take a guided tour and a jeep ride through the resort's able staff. There's always so much to do if you want to. For those who want some quiet. Laze around by the waterfall, enjoy the private swing in your room, let the Monarch Butterflies mesmerize you or play with the rabbits and lovebirds. There's so much for you too. The best time to visit is definitely monsoon but, there's one sight that you must never miss if you could visit this place in March-April. The time when coffee plants is in bloom with white flowers & their surreal fragrance. If you are lucky and in time for the season; you could take home one of the best natural honey that will remind you of all those colourful flower beds you saw in your nature walk there. Cardamom plantations are the highlight and the resort offers souvenirs in the form of spices at a reasonable rate. For those of you who have missed nature, who have forgotten to believe in fairy tales, who have lost their ability to connect with themselves. Bison Valley is The Place for you and The Bamboo Dale Resort the highest recommended place to stay. The BAMBOO DALE Resort is nothing short of a surprise package in itself. One that you would never get tired of exploring again and again. There's always something new every time.
