Baywatch Beach Homes, Kochi (Cochin)

We were seven of us families who planned to have a time of togetherness far from the madding crowd on a beach. And Cherai was a destination that we agreed could be a good place for that. We decided to go for Baywatch as it happened to be one of the few resorts in Cherai that were beach facing . . On our arrival, we understood that there was nothing called privacy that we were going to enjoy as the whole neighborhood seemed to be on the beach as the beach front is right next to the Cherai public beach. There were a total of 3 waiters and we never got any thing that we ordered for until much later. Average wait time of a couple of hours. The food was terrible. And on complaining, we were told that the chefs had quit and it was a make shift arrangement that kept things moving. We could only wonder why we were paying these fares for some street food. In some of the rooms one has to line up a set of extra chairs to hold the curtains back that the rest of the world does not have a free view of all that is happening inside. My sister-in-law has a infant she was nursing and it was nothing short of a night mare as the drunk and inquisitive little-bo-peeps had a field day. Absolutely no amenities - no pool, no WiFi, no games options. Nothing !!! Only as we grew into our second day did we understand that I was earlier just a restaurant and bar around which rooms were later built. However, the worst was only to come. We had agreed for Rs. 3500/day all inclusive with breakfast (the hotel and its amenities is not worth more than Rs. 1500/day). On the first morning when we came for our breakfast after a swim in the sea, we were told that the breakfast was only up to 10am. After a lot of arguments, we were finally served breakfast at 11. 30. Then we get another bombshell - one room can eat complimentary breakfast for up to Rs. 500. Beyond that its billed. That any way was not a problem as there was only toast and egg. When we ordered for coffee. There was no milk as the hotel did not seem to have sufficient milk. The coal on the burning heart was finally tossed on as we were checking out. The reception informs us that the cost per day is actually Rs. 4500 (though even the tariff cards show Rs. 3500 as the premium tariff for the 'best rooms'. This they explain off saying that the rates in the tariff cards were not revised) and that actually what they had agreed for was Rs. 4, 500 and not 3, After a lot of argument, they revised it to Rs. 4000. I guess when trust is broken, the best is to walk away feeling lucky that we have survived to face another day.

The hotel location was excellent and appearance was outstanding. I felt major problem with language and slow services of the staff. Interior and exterior was maintained good but staff were not qualified. The room condition was good but maintenance was average. There was AC problem in the room and do not respond your request. I had food in the hotel with good quality. There is no delay in check-in and check-out process. There are no activities organized by hotel. I have visited this hotel in the month of February with my family for relaxation purpose.

The hotel was conveniently located. The location was good. The appearances of the hotel were good. The staff behaviour was good and they were very friendly and very cooperative with us. They quickly responded us. The room was neat, clean and very spacious. The amenities like TV, AC and geyser were in working condition. Everything was fine in that hotel. I didn't face any issues regarding the hotel. Beach view was there from the room. The food was really good. They provide complimentary breakfast. They provide veg and non-veg food. We had our own vehicles. We went with family and friends. The other activities were not provided. Parking facility was provided. I visited in the month of January. There was no delay in check-in and check-out. The hotel was reasonable and I do recommend with others stay with. I don? T have any suggestion for the hotel. The hotel was really good.

It's located on the main beach. Rooms were very neat and clean and quite spacious. Only swimming pool was not there. But when you are on a beach do you need a pool? It's was more like a home stay; it has only six to eight rooms with huge space for parking. Good garden, courteous staff. Mr. Mathew is a very good host. They take pride in hosting guests. Check his contact number in uploaded photo. You can order whatever you want to eat, they serve freshly prepared food. Well within budget.

We stayed here on the Christmas Eve and they have welcomed us with a drink. It was good to stay here in this hotel, overall it was value for money excellent service, clean room and friendly staff. Breakfast was delicious and the backdoor of this resort opens on the beach, that was most amazing view. They helped us in arranging the cab for our next destination, Munnar at a reasonable price.
