Calm and lovely nature

You need to get permission from forest department. Enquire with your hotel and they will have contacts. You can see around 6 places on the way and all are mind boggling and silent place. You need to take your food and water since there are no shops. But it is safe for kids too.

Average lake

This lake is near to Moir viewpoint. Per head they are taking Rs. 250 for special boating. This lake is better than Kodaikanal lake. It is located inside the forest, so good. Atmosphere is also super.

Nature's gift - Fresh water lake in KodaiKanal

This is a large freshwater lake in KodaiKanal and boating is prohibited here. Awesome views and this is in the middle of forest. There is temple at this venue. Beautiful views, please ensure you carry your food before you start for this trip as it is a forest area and nothing is available.

Nature's beauty, located deep inside forest

Unlike Kodai Lake this one is a natural lake. It is situated inside deep forest and one requires special permission and pass to enter inside. Situated on Kodaikanal and Munnar border. Very photogenic. Just sat next to the lake, had a good time.

A lake adjacent to forest

Berijam forest trip is the second best thing to do when in Kodai. You can do this trip after doing the obvious best thing in Kodai ;-) The lake itself isn't much of a beauty but what you see and experience on the way to it is untouched nature at its best. Carry some munchies, water and a jacket. You can easily hire a cab with a driver who knows the forest well to take you through it.

Mind blowing

My management in high school took us to Berijam for a trekking camp where we enjoyed a lot. They took us to deep forest (natural chola forest) where the sand comprised of near sponge like thing was there, the guide said that it is a result of natural manures before decades.

Beautiful drive but needs forest dept permit

The drive to the lake is worth the effort, especially if you enjoy car rides. There was no activities here as it's inside a forest area. Carry your own snacks as you won't find any shops inside. There are a few other spots on the way to Berijam lake and overall the trip takes a good half day and is worth it.

Nice to watch

Nice location, everyone must watch but you need to get permission from forest. When you ride there, you can see more places in short time and visit with family.
