Kashmir

This picturesque valley is about 15 km from Pahalgam. With lush green meadows, thick green coverage and snow capped mountain surrounding it, its really provide picture postcard moment . It is advisable to combine Betaab Valley with Aru Valley and Chandanwari. Taxi for all three costs between Rs. 1500 to Rs. 2100 depending on type of vehicle you chose. The total trip should ideally take 4 to 5 hours with 1 hour stoppage in each site. The place has an entry fee of Rs. 100 per person . As We reached there, the wild beauty of the lush green grass meadow surrounded by Deodar and Pine forests with all shades of green all around, clear blue sky, white snow capped mountains encircling the valley and sea green water flowing on the Lidder river, engulfed our senses. Its beyond description. To get true flavour of the place you must leisurely stroll around keeping all your sensory organs on ultra active mode. The sight of colourful landscape will engulf your eyesight, cool mountain breeze will touch your body, chirp of birds will provide music to your ears and flavour of fresh grass and Pine forest will fill your nose. The place will capture your senses. Serenity and calmness shall touch you with right note. This area is also very popular for those who love camping. Great place. But sad to see that the place has been made slightly artificial giving a look of man made park. This has diluted the pristine beauty of the valley for sure. Another irritant is pestering of so called guides. Believe me you don't need a guide here for sure.

Nice place but not worth the money

Betaab Valley is a nice sightseeing place. It has got its name from the movie Betaab as it's one song was shot there. The only thing is that it is not really worth the money you have to pay. First of all taxi charges Rs. 800 for 8 seater Car from the nearest taxi stand and then there is an entry fees as well at the spot.
