Being a government owned property, we were a little skeptical about the quality of construction, infrastructure and services provided, but all our thoughts got changed when we reached there and enjoyed the luxury of the place. It is well maintained, clean, green and quite. The staff was very supportive and caring especially Mr. Awasthi (manager) and Mr. Anandi (butler). It was great experience staying here.
We were on the last leg of our trip and the heritage cottages on the bank of river Betwa were beautiful. The cottages were spacious and neat. The bathroom was clean and big. The restaurant served good food but service was a little slow. Overall stay was good but the river bank, which is outside the hotel premises, was very dirty.
This place is very relaxing; city is not BIG but very peaceful and silent. Temple Ram temple and kila visit is very memorable. Stay at Hotel is wonderful; staff are very corporative; Swimming pool and Gym are very nice. They had made Garden with all vegetable and staying at Hotel is enjoyable. This hotel is at back of river and view from hotel in morning feel you fresh.
This hotel situated at very good location. This hotel staff are maintained and helpful. This hotel neat and tidy cottage to offer. This hotel is located just beside the river breathtaking views. The hotel boasts of a sprawling lawn. I was stay here for two days and I am well satisfied with the stay in this hotel.
Visited Orchha as train tickets were available for this place only. But I found it to be an excellent place for History buffs and for people who like forts, palaces and old ruins. Secondly the stay at Betwa Cottages was the most wonderful experience I had in a long time. It had all the facilities of a 5 star hotel specially I must mention the Swimming Pool, Gym, Bar and Restaurant. All were in excellent condition and really a place to enjoy.
Spent two days in October 2014 with family to get a break from everyday routine. Hotel office had a nice waiting area and assist you in arranging taxis for site sighing within town or to nearby places. Hotel parking was within premises The cottages are located on a small hill surrounded by small gardens with variety of flowering plants and trees. The room was reconditioned and had TV, small fridge, cupboards and dressing table. Outside every cottage there was a separate porch to sit and relax. Wash-rooms were clean and fitted with geysers and had ample supplies The cafeteria was big enough to accommodate around 50 people at one time. Each table is decorated with fresh flowers. Since it was MP Tourism hotel, the menu was same. The vegetarian dishes, we tried, had taste of home made food. The service was quick and staff were polite A swimming pool with changing rooms and a kids play area were also the part of state. He pool was clean and we enjoyed the time there. Some four-five type of swings and rides were there in the kids park. The park, pool and garden were well maintained The river flows just in front of the hotel and one can do river rafting during seasons. The tickets can be booked within hotel. Across the river, there was a bird sanctuary. The place still has rustic touch and closes early in night. One can enjoy long evening walks over the river bridge or within the town. Small tea stalls kept opened late night near the river bridge and you can have good time chatting with family or friends. Overall experience is good and would not miss a chance to stay there again.
The hotel location is bit off track. We had a great experience during our stay in this hotel. The hotel staff were mannered and helpful. The hotel has neat and tidy cottages to offer. The housekeeping facilities were up to the mark. I would advise other travellers to definitely try staying in this hotel. The hotel boasts of a sprawling lawn. Hotel is located just beside the river with breathtaking views.
Hotel is very good for staying and location is very good and approachable. It is situated at a very calm place and where noise and air pollution is not there. Ambience is good and rooms are also good. Service is very good and rooms are spacious enough and I can also recommend anyone to stay in the same place.
This hotel is conveniently located with very good reasonable food, helpful staff. It's an attractive property with spacious rooms but not very well maintained and all the amenities were working properly.
I booked the rooms of this hotel from here and faced no problems at check in and check out. I stayed here for 2 nights. Due to the season of the New Year the rates of the hotel was hiked. It was not justified to stay in the tent according to the rates charged and not worth it. The rooms were poor but the food was good and costly. They had a separate restaurant where veg and non veg food was available. This is a big resort with swimming pool, gym, but very costly. The rooms were small, shabby, and not clean with all amenities not worth the price. The service was not that good; late service. The location was excellent; the resort was in a big area well decorated with trees, statues, near a flowing river. The hotel was excellent in its appearance. Activities like swimming pool, car rental facilities were available. I visited this place with my family on a relaxing vacation in January 2012.
"Nature at your doorstep" is what I shall call this resort. We opted for the Swiss tent accommodation there and to our surprise, they were not just tents, they were one complete room in themselves with all the amenities of Heater, Cooler, attached toilets and all. The resort was situated near the neat river Betwa which was a site in itself. The gardens, the breakfast lawn facing the river, the Chapel for puppet shows, the bullock cart placed on the entrance, all were a wonderful sight. The food was good but only the vegitarian one. The chicken was bad and I suggest not to opt for that. There was also the option of River rafting and we took the oppurtunity to add fun to the experience. Though the staff was a bit lethargic but the manager was very good and helpful in making our experience a wonderful one. Overall, I must say that for low budget tourists its a wonderful stay here.
We had planned to visit Khajuraho after 29 years married life. Even a friend of our daughter (who is in US doing her Ph. The. Commented over phone Going for a honeymoon, Aunty? '. When we heard about Orchha, we could not resist the temptation of visiting Orchha on the way, particularly when we learnt about the facility of staying in Swiss Tents - and that too Air conditioned ones.
I have visited Orchha many times before while stationed at nearby city Jhansi. But staying at this hotel on new year eve was a very refreshing experience. Rain also added to the natural beauty of the hotel. Staying in swiss tents is a experience in itself. Food is not very spicy and edible. Overall we enjoyed our stay.
excellent and wonderful ! Cleanliness and decorative presentation was memorable. Location of the hotel is most suitable for site seeing. Food quality was really best and hygeinic.
This hotel needs improvement. The service was okay but it needs to be maintained and cleaned. The bed in the room was not that good. Food was good.
