One of the most interesting places I've ever stayed. Heritage Haveli Hotel, full of art pieces at every possible place. It's no less than a museum. Though our room was small and bathroom of old style but we liked staying there for that old world charm. Food was excellent. Coffee shop and boutique were great. Must go if you enjoy heritage and art.
It was around 7:30 pm when we reached Bikaner. Streets were dark, crowded and dusty. In the unlit corner of the town the entrance of the hotel, though imposing, was not visible from far. Once we crossed the entrance the ambience was unique. Felt like entering a palace. Lush garden, imposing edifices, ornate walls, antique lights and vintage vehicles reminded us of the glorious past of Bikaner. The warmth of the room was comforting in that chilly night. Antique furniture, artefacts, mirrors, paintings, lamp shades were all marvellous. Food was good and tasty. Staff are courteous.
Recently went on a tour to Rajasthan Jaipur, Bikaner, Jodhpur, Udaipur, Jaisalmer. The hotel at Bikaner, Bhairon Vilas was one of the finest hotel we had stayed. The ambience, the antiques, the surroundings, everything was just awesome. Since it was the Prime Minister of Rajasthan Haveli, they have the things of the time well. The room was cosy and comfortable and also it had good space with wardrobes. If you plan to go to Bikaner, Bhairon Vilas is just the perfect place to stay.
In December first week, my and I wife drove from Jaisalmer to Bikaner before we would head back home in Gurgaon . . After Jodhpur, Jaisalmer seems less interesting and now Bikaner was feeling even lesser interesting once we entered the city. Honestly, we explore much of it since we reached bit late and strolled in the market near our Haveli I. E. Bhairon Vilas. Bhairon Vilas is a beautiful old Haveli managed by the young owner, who was very courteous and showed us the rooms himself with all the other features in the Haveli like the dining area, the bar etc. The rooms were all taken, so our room was nothing much. It seem that the room had been cleaned regularly. Haveli was beautiful but lacked top-notch maintenance. Phone work and the TV had poor reception. The dinner was a buffet at 500 rupees per head, which we thought was a bit steep for the dishes that were made. The breakfast was again egg and toasts with tea as we already had the same everywhere else in Rajasthan budget hotels. The Fort is just in front of this hotel, but the entry is from opposite side, so it is 10-minute walk. Almost in front of the entry of the fort was another eatery, which we wish we had found earlier. We never got to try it. The fort has a nice guided tour for free. But the guide was nice to take a lot of our pictures with the fort's artefacts in the hope for some tip, which we gladly obliged. The walk to the market close by was a nightmare. The smoke from all the vehicles made it impossible to walk. We tried chaat and gol gappas (pani Puri) at a shop and it was the worst ever. Considering, Bikaner is a place from where very well known sweet and namkeen brands have emerged, the stuff was too bad.
It was a good experience with this hotel and the city. There is so much places to see in the city to be relaxed yourself. I got a good response from the local people and staff of the hotel. But the weather did not support me, it was too hot that time.
Beautiful rustic style, our room was beautiful and bursting with character. The front garden was quirky and a great addition, providing somewhere to just relax (and use the WiFi). We had our own little garden by our block of rooms which was very well maintained. We were impressed by dinner (a buffet) and the staff was very pleasant. The only negative we found was that we had no hot water and couldn't find a boiler anywhere and however we were somewhat used to this now in India.
It's a old destination and old is gold and it is one of Bikaner's famous tourist place, mostly for foreigners. I stayed and felt the richness and pure Rajwadi feeling there. There was complete peacefulness and mental calmness and basically there Marwadi food with pure Rajwadi traditional culture was too good. The service, cleanliness, appearance were really great. It's a great hotel of Bikaner.
We had stayed there for couple of nights during our Rajasthan tour. We booked this hotel well in advance after studying all the reviews on the internet and this hotel is a gem indeed. Room were very on purpose decorated as old fashioned and it felt awesome. Staff was excellent, was ready to go some extent to raise the bar of service quality. Food was awesome, I mean best, tariff also totally affordable, highly recommended for family trips.
