Awesome stay

Posted 7 Jun, 2016

Awesome... Great food, great staff, awesome location, unmatched hospitality, nice rooms.. In all, we lived beautiful 4 days in BirdsNChirps This homestay is situated on hill and one has to climb so many stairs to reach property.. Thanks to owner who fixed some resting area in between 15-20 stairs.. We found this property online with the help of so many positive reviews. Some wrote 220 steps and some 100, but my kids counted exact 176 steps to our rooms... People of age more than 50 might find difficult to climb this much stairs but honestly, we enjoyed it a lot.. We were 12 members of age between 10 to 44.. Whenever we need to climb 176 stairs our kids start shouting "Saray bolo, Jai mata di" type of words which actually added to our entertainment. This was my first homestay experience... We chose homestay because we all like home made veg food.. This was the first time when my wife enjoyed food a lot while in trip.. She didn't like onion and garlic so in most of the Tours she has to eat bread jam like things... Thanks to Mrs Bhalla, she herself cook jain food for my wife.. We enjoyed delicious homemade food, tastiest coffee and awesome service by owner Mrs Bhalla herself and by her staff members Sanjeev & Ajay... Pets Sugar and Aura were homely too.. My daughter used to play with them whenever she got chance... Now when we are missing 17 degrees we enjoyed there, my daughter is missing Sugar and Aura.. In all, it was awesome stay and I recommend this place to everyone who likes to stay out of City rush and like homemade food.. Rooms are good.. We gave some suggestions to Mrs Bhalla which can make their rooms best from good.. She promised that she will definitely work on our suggestions... Anyways I am sure I will visit there again.

Nice to stay at beautiful location & nice rooms

Posted 11 Oct, 2015

I along with my friends visited Dalhousie last week for adventure purposes. The hotel was located at a very beautiful place facing the valley. The view at the night was just awesome. The rooms were clean and big, food was great, service was quick. There was not even a single problem with the hotel. They even arranged sightseeing for us. So I can say 9/10 for this hotel. Do visit when to Dalhousie.

Great food; good rooms; no housekeeping

Posted 14 Nov, 2014

I had visited Dalhousie with my parents in the 1st week of May for 2 days. We stayed at Birdsnchirps Homestay. Beautiful place with a breathtaking view at night. The rooms, dining hall etc. Are very redecorated . . Good points:. Beautiful place far away from the hustle bustle of the main town. Great food. Good rooms. Pack lunch when you spend your day out Bad Points:. The climb up to the rooms and then further up for meals. A little difficult to locate since, it was inside the main town area. Very cold (no room heater) Not recommended for people who don't want to/cannot climb 200 odd stairs. Also, there's no room service or housekeeping. Hence, those who want to spend their holidays in all these luxuries might want to avoid this place. Otherwise, a completely different experience and a memorable one :). Stayed May 2012, travelled with family.

Hotel appearance is good, big rooms

Posted 8 Sep, 2014

Location was convenient. Travelled by own vehicle. Appearance was good. Staff and service was good. Rooms were big but lockers were not there. AC, TV, geyser was working properly. Washrooms were to that clean. There was a good view. No delay in check-in and check-out. Food was good. There were no activities. I am satisfied with the food. Hotel was value for money. I would like to recommend this hotel to others. I had visited with family and friends.

Hotel with basic amenities

Posted 14 Jun, 2014

I wanted to get away from the busy schedule and that is what Dalhousie had to offer. The location of the birds and chirps was just awesome surrounded by hills on all side giving a picturesque site. One had to cover around 100 odd stairs up to reach there but it is worth taking as you reach there you would know. One has the option of dorms and rooms. Rooms have all the basic amenities. Rates are reasonable as it also includes food. Food was just awesome. The best part was the hospitality of the owner (Mr. & Mrs Bhalla).

Well-maintained rooms; good staff

Posted 12 Jun, 2014

This is real homestay in the sense that, the owner Dr. Bhallas stay in the same place, organise everything for their guests. The place is around three km from Dalhousie bus stand and accessible by cars throughout the night. The amenities are homely. Staff were really good, they were kind enough to pack an awesome lunch for us. Rooms are well-maintained, the rooms below the dining is good. The dorm above is good for a group. We were a big group so booked the whole place. Those who would like to go around Dalhousie can pack food from here, its advisable that way. Food around the tourist places aren't hygienic One need to get to the place by climbing around 300 steps, which old and sick people may find it hard, but they do help them out. If someone would like to spend few quiet days on a hill station with its best weather, its a very good place. One may have to carry certain lenin but I think if we mentioned it before they could arrange, like towels and soaps/shampoos Nature lovers would love this place. This would be place for those who would love homestays and not for those who would like to have hotel experience.

Delicious food with good service

Posted 4 Mar, 2014

What a wonderful and relaxing time. We were welcomed so warmly by staff ( we arrived very late in the night) with a delicious meal and a heated room. Spent most of our time outdoors, exploring the area, and taking in the beauty of this region. Our rooms were perfect, spacious, clean and a wonderful hot shower. Morning tea in bed was a luxury, and the meals were exceptional. The best part of our time here was the time spent with our hosts, they made us feel incredibly welcome and really took the time to talk to us. Definitely plan to return to them again!
