Bordi Beach Overview

Ranked 2 of 6 sightseeing in Bordi

Bordi Beach, popularly known as the Dahanu-Bordi Beach, is admired for its peaceful and untouched beauty. The sea line stretches 17 km from Dahanu to Bordi, and is marked by blackish, sticky sands and chikoo orchards. Furthermore, it is a low tide area and thus the water does not rise above the waist level for about half a kilometre. This beach is managed by the Maharashtra Woods Preservation group.

Below average beach hit by pollution

Below average beach hit by pollution, water is not crystal clear or blue or green it is brown in colour, looks like a desert. Nothing much to visit on beach except Golawala & Panipuri Wala.

Limited facilities

This place being very far off from Mumbai city is not very crowded. Less crowd means less dirty, so comparably beach is cleaner, but also lack basic amenities. The Bordi village itself is however absolutely beautiful, with chikoo & mango farms swinging. Nights of course bring eerie feelings.

Not much crowded beach

Beach is good not much crowded. Not much commercial activity. You should know the time of tide to synchronise your days and time of visit. Nearby area there are hotels, Anand resort and pani puri centres which you can enjoy. You can take a leisurely stroll on the road surrounded by old Parsi houses mostly vacant on one side and on the other side beach. Cool place to relax.

Carry suntan and some eatables

We wanted to go for a long drive to this place from Mumbai. Thus we zeroed in on the Bordi beach and headed off for a one day picnic. Lots of place around the beach to have food. I strongly recommend THE CRAZY CRABS RESTAURANT. Also remember to carry lot of suntan lotion and some food if your are travelling with kids. Absolutely calm and serene beach, you can take long walks in the evening and then head back to Mumbai, worth visiting once.

Extremely safe beach

Its an absolutely flat beach with water height just enough to drown your feet. Even during high tide, the wave height does not touch the knees. Very safe to sit & chill in water or black sand. Yes the sand is actually black and we wrote our names in it. Wonderful place to play frisbee. One family had got car on the beach and was using car as a DJ with full-volume music. The beach is very quiet and you will find hardly anyone there. Kind of private beach to chill & relax.
