Brahmagiri Peak Overview

Ranked 8 of 42 sightseeing in Coorg

One of the most fascinating temples is the majestic Bhangandeshwara temple which has a Kerala style of architecture. It is situated at the convergence of the underground rivers, Sujyoti, Cauvery and Kanike. The temple has a copper roof with the exterior intricately carved with sculptures. On 17th October every year, devotees throng the region for a holy dip at Talacauvery or the origin of the seven holy rivers and to worship at the shrine. The origin of the river is at the top of Brahmagiri, 1535 m above sea level.

Trek to remember, awesome water bath

The peak gives an awesome feeling of achievement. One of the tallest peaks in Karnataka and it has good coverage of sightseeing. We were lucky to spot wild elephant on the way up but it was at some distance from where we were. The trek is awesome to the peak but it is not easy. After the trek is completed, you can go to Irupu falls for an awesome bath with high-speed gushing waters to give a much-needed rest to your limbs. Please have leech proof socks if you are afraid of them, as you will find many on the way up to the peak.

A wild trek to see the nature and experience its beauty

A very nice dense forest to trek and experience the natures beauty. You will be mesmerized by the thick nature covering the whole ghat. Try and you will never regret it, a must for every adventure-loving person.

Amazing greenery.

Brahmagiri peak is on top of Talacauvery hills. Steps are built to climb this hill. We enjoyed climbing this hill even though it was difficult. The view was so amazing with mist covered all over and lots of greenery. This place looks good during sunrise or sunset.
