Bugle Rock Overview

Ranked 18 of 489 sightseeing in Bangalore

Bugle Rock is among the most frequented tourist destinations located in Basavanagudi, south of the city. Also known as the peninsular gneiss, this massive rock formation is assessed to be 3000 million years old. Under the rule of feudal Lord Kempe Gowda II, a tower was built on the rock to keep a watch over the empire. Located next to the Bull Temple, most of the rock formations on the Bugle Rock are hollow, which were earlier used for lighting lamps.

Sprawling over an area of 16 acres, Bulge Rock also comprises a small park with waterfalls and fountains. Among the highlights of the landmark is the beautiful entrance sculpted with rock pillars, having carvings and murals.

Tourists can reach the location through city bus number 36, 43 and 45 from Majestic Market; 3 from Jayanagar; 34 and 37 from Shivajinagar and T-12 from Yeshvantapur RMC.

Good time spent at Bugle rock

Visited this place for a short time. The place is worth a visit to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. A little far from the main city, what makes this place unique is the fact that it is not much crowded and you see good people around. Good ambience. Go with a partner preferably

One of the very famous parks in Basavanagudi. It has all the facilities to make it a wonderful park. Walking/jogging track, exercise equipments for senior citizens, play area for kids, lots of seating places for visitors, drinking water and reading place etc etc.The park has a lot of trees and hence it keeps the surroundings very cool. It also gives an idea about the famous personalities of Karnataka. Dr. Rajkumar, Dr. Vishnuvardhan, C Aswath and D. V. Gundappa etc. Must Visit place.

Bugle Rock is one of the good place to hangout with friends. The past vast big and it's located in Basavanagudi, next to Bull Temple. Old people usually walk there and the temple next to the park is great. The temple has some epic story and who visits the temple must know the story.

Massive Rock formed millions of years ago

Bugle Rock is a massive rock in the Basavanagudi area of South Bangalore, with an assessed age of about 3, 000 million years. Amidst the natural rock formations, a small park with waterfalls and fountains has been developed which is attracts children, families and the elderly. The park houses three temples and the densely tree-lined park is considered a "walkers paradise" since several people visit the park every day.

Wonderful Park especially for kids to enjoy

This park is located in Gandhi bazaar, Basavangudi near bull temple (another landmark of Bangalore). The place is surrounded completely by trees. There's a rock from the top of which you can have a look of Bangalore's beauty. Sit here, relax, have a long fitness walk or just enjoy the greenery. The place has a kids play area which is also really nice and well-maintained. Once you exit the park you will find a lot of eateries roadside as well as fast food joints. A fun place to be with your kids or loved one on a weekend.
