After 17 years my husband and I decided to take a road trip alone without our kids and as it was my long held wish to experience the living history of my country we took on Our first stop was Castle Mandawa for a luxurious lunch. The Castle is well maintained with the ancient & the modern seamlessly intertwined. On one side you have the 17th century frescos in the Shekhawati style of the stories from mythology till the Maugham era and on the other the state of the art swimming pool and well appointed rooms. The staff is courteous and well trained. Food is delicious and while you wait for it to be served you can explore the various antiques displayed around the room. Summer comes early to Rajasthan so my only advice to fellow travelers would be to visit in the winter months and explore the small town of Mandawa and the surrounding Jhunjhunu district. The only thing that I would do differently next time would be to halt a night at this place.
I went to this place on a spiritual trip so naturally this place turned out to be amazing place for stay. The services were prompt. The location was in middle of the city yet very peaceful and serene. Food was as we requested so, I totally fell in love with the place.
Good hotel located near to a village, hotel looks are amazing from inside. Hotel rooms are luxury and spacious, cleanliness was good. Good bathroom, food at the hotel's restaurant is cheaper and delicious. Hotel staff are helpful and attentive, only thing bothered us was internet connectivity issues.
We stayed at this hotel for 2 days. It is a great establishment is an old palace. We stayed in a deluxe suite which was very luxury with terrace and balcony. It was clean, spacious and had very nice bathroom. Hotel staff are kind and helpful. Food at the hotel's restaurant was delicious with great variety of food. Highly recommended if you want a luxurious stay.
Appearance of the hotel is good to stay in this hotel. Good service, clean hotel, friendly people that is shows the hotels quality. I stayed in this hotel with my family and it was a good experience. Hotel location is also too good, also good for couples as well as family. We enjoy the journey.
Very nice surprise, large courtyard, staff welcome you in local dress and spacious Split level in the tower. We have dinner in a beautiful garden, a shame the average buffet, breakfast very correct and friendly staff. To visit some havelis but uninteresting place, but hotel added quiet pleasure to us.
The hotel is just beautiful, a palace as can dream of: beautiful gardens, spacious, very clean, bathroom very large. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant, very good food and very friendly staff. Necessary place to stay following the length of our journey, we are delighted with our night at Mandawa Castle.
This is an old castle converted into a hotel so we can not compare it with the heritage hotels of mega cities but still a boutique hotel. The place is obviously magical. However, insects, lizards and other critters tend to enter the room. Good restaurant, friendly staff
We arrived in the morning in this old fort. As soon as we entered the court, we had the impression of making a good back in time. Certainly, the walls are blackened by time, but what charm. Personally, we had a very welcome and our room was spacious, comfortable and clean. I confirm that the hot water remains uncertain but that does not really pose a problem. The evening meal (in the form of a buffet) was the most correct and simple service but filled with kindness. The pool was clean and very pretty, in a delightful setting. We have a very good memory of this hotel that we highly recommend for its charm.
We spent two nights in this great palace it also has a swimming pool. Our room was very large with lots of charm and great bathroom. We dined very correctly in the inner lawn. A beautiful memory and place.
Very impressive both outside and inside! A real place for royalty! Room was beautiful and very large. Excellent food and attentive service. Icing on the cake: traditional 1 by musician and a singer during meals and the staff dress even outdoors. Breathtaking view from the top of the small towers and roofs. The pool area is beautiful. In short, a "passage" too short to enjoy this place.
It is fort that has been converted into a hotel. Very impressive and overwhelming. The rooms vary greatly in size and layout, and we slept in a large bedroom with huge bathroom that was actually bigger than the bedroom. Although it was fairly cold, they had been given the room warmed to a comfortable temperature. There was nice but relatively expensive, restaurant in the complex. The food was good but somewhat unexciting, and we therefore chose from the buffet and took a single dish from our menu. This portion was in turn so great, so we could stand to eat more. The hotel is a good choice if you want to try to stay somewhat different.
This former palace of the Maharajah's beautiful. I would have gladly stayed longer. Our room was nice and comfortable, with the biggest bathroom I have ever seen. We arrived late and we unfortunately could not enjoy the gardens. The food was excellent, friendly service. Only small downside: the hotel's disco played until quite late, but that's a detail. Overall, our experience was very pleasant and I would stay again with pleasure.
Former palace into two parts. The first includes the small restaurant and clean rooms decorated with a decoration of the time. The second, more recent, is composed of a beautiful swimming pool, gardens and more distant rooms of the restaurant. The groups meet virtually the restaurant full, but only have access to buffet. In Rajasthan, the problems of standards (electricity, internet, bathroom plumbing . And finishing rooms are offset by smile and friendliness of service.
In the small town of Mandawa (without interest and unattractive), hides a beautiful palace of old. Home and costumes on. Huge and furnished rooms with air-conditioning, fan and mini bar (empty). The bathroom is also very large. Meals served in the garden with lights everywhere and a large buffet, magical. Buffet breakfast in a beautiful room decorated in the theme. Good service without being at the height of the premises. Pool and beautiful courtyard.
