Cauvery wildlife sanctuary
The Cauvery Wildlife Sanctuary is situated near the Mutatti Village and is spread across an area of around 102.59 sq km. The sanctuary is covered with dry deciduous trees like jambul and arjuna.
Animals like elephant, sambar, common otter, leopard and giant squirrel inhabit the sanctuary. White-browed bulbul, pygmy woodpecker and green-billed malkoha are some of the birds seen here. It is also a natural habitat of the mahseer fish and other marine species.
