Called the Indias Niagara, Best time to visit is during the mansoon when it is at its ferociously best. But if you want to enjoy the boat ride in the falls visit this place after the rains are over.

Tourist have suggested that if you want to enjoy the view of this waterfall overnight stay here in pwd guest house or tourist department cottage, where the view is so beautiful and pleasant. Wonderful waterfall !!

This waterfall is an amazing place to visit in monsoon. 36kms away from Jagdalpur, has a Chhattisgarh tourism board accommodation which is beside the magnificent fall. River Indravati flows with all energy. The view cannot be expressed in words. You can get down to the river but cannot go near the falls. It's massive rush of water. So no boating available during monsoons. There are few small tea shops in the village. No food available if you are not staying in the resort.

Magnificent Falls

It is a waterfall, where in one cannot enter the water safely for swimming or bathing. It is one of the best Falls. It is a retreat for the eyes. CG Tourism operates boats which will take you almost at the point where the Falls, but only after the water recedes. Hence better to contact Tourism Department about boat operation. They have beautiful tents and rooms very close to the Falls, but one cannot get a view of the Falls from the rooms, PWD guest house is located at a marvelous location and try to get accommodation there.

Chitrakote Falls - Indian Niagara

The Indian Niagara. The widest of the Falls in India is a must watch for all nature lovers in our country. The place would be best to visit after the Monsoon. There is a Chhattisgarh Tourism Resort also attached. If someone plans for a night stay, please go ahead for a full moon night.

Its located 30 km away from Jagdalpur, Chhattisgarh. It is also called Niagara falls of India because of its horse shoe shape. Nice and beautiful place to come with family for a picnic. You can also see the fall at night also flood lights are on at night.
