Beautiful Cathedral

The cathedral is just beautiful. It's situated inside the fort. I have been to churches all my life and this place just brought back memories. It is a Portuguese styled cathedral and has some really beautiful paintings inside.

A very old church

This is an old church built in 1600's which is beautiful from inside but not majestic. The caretaker is very rude here and photography is not actually allowed but you can find loopholes with ease. No place nearby to eat or shop so I suggest you take eatables with you. A stay of not more than 30 minutes is suggested.

Wonderful interiors

The Church of Bom Jesus is located inside the fort of Moti Daman and is one of the oldest churches of the area. The area is very calm and peaceful and is perfect for someone looking for a bit of solace. The Church is well maintained and the interiors are beautifully done.

Good religious place

If you have time, can visit this place. It is a big and old church. History of church is also available outside of church. Don't go with very high expectations.

nice architecture and nice to be in solitude

Visit it if loads of time to spare, nice architecture, you can take snaps of carvings on wall, sit in peace and pray. Usually less crowded, nice to visit if you need sometime in solitude.

If possible, visit

If you are in Daman, just have a look. It is very old church. You can see old lamp posts fixed along the road. It is not maintained so good but I feel that adds to its beauty.

Portuguese architecture par excellence

The church is an old shrine one of the most imposing historical and religious edifices of the city, this church reflects colonial influences it had in the past. Established in 1559 AD, this parish was finally consecrated as a church in 1603 AD. The church is an excellent example of the Roman style of architecture and engineering genius of the Portuguese. The intricately carved gateways, artistically done up interiors and rosewood altars of this shrine are at their best, even after several years. Six statues of revered saints, which are highly aesthetic in appeal, can be found on the southern entrance of this church.
