No value for money at all

Posted 10 Feb, 2016

Stayed in this hotel in first week of January 2016 with my family & following is my first hand experience feedback: . . 1. This hotel is pathetically understaffed. The owner of the hotel has taken this property on lease from Oranj group, presumably for a year or so. Consequently, the lessee of the hotel namely 'City Heights' is on a strict cost reduction mode. Do not expect anything which you expect from any of such hotel, from room service to quality of rooms 2. The front office is supervised by an mannered guy. This guy is EXACTLY OPPOSITE of what a person SHOULD BE in hospitality sector. A severe liability of this hotel & probably because of this guy, this hotel is not doing well. Expect this SHORT TEMPERED guy to threaten you to leave the hotel at midnight on any petty issue (this is precisely what he did to my old parents). He comfortably played card game on his desktop even after seeing me struggling with all the luggage while checking out (for your info, the hotel does not have a bell boy to handle your luggage). Apart from using abusive language on asking for certain information about the hotel & city, this guy was totally a non cooperative staff who was either bothered about his game which he keeps on playing on laptop / his big sony Mobile on which he is always busy. He is the most important reason of me suggesting you not to stay in this hotel. His attitude is SURE to ruin your mood & your hard earned trip 3. The rooms do NOT have clean bed sheet and pillow covers (moreover, they are TORN). Although the rooms are clean but they have a damp smell as soon as you enter. Even after repeated requests, the linen is not changed. So if sleeping on oily and torn linen recently used by guests prior to you is no problem for you, you may experiment with this hotel 4. In some rooms they have Split AC & in others they have central AC. The rooms which have central AC are noisy since the central AC seems to be an old one 5. They do not have hot water connection in every room. I realized this after checking in when my old parents wanted hot water. I requested front office for this. This mannered guy flatly refused (as expected) to help in a very ruthless manner. Then I contacted other staff of the hotel, a cooperative lady. (This is the ONLY LADY in the hotel who is worth talking to. A very cooperative lady & the only reason for us to continue our stay in this pathetic hotel. Hats off to her hospitality. The one & only asset of this hotel). But she was also not able to help me on this front since she suggested a change of room which was connected to a central AC which was noisy. I had to manage without the supply of hot water in spite of opting for a deluxe room 6. The owner of this hotel does NOT seem to be bothered about the quality of services delivered by the hotel staff. The staff does NOT seem to bother to deliver any sort of support / quality (specifically this front office guy) talked about above. Or it may be a case of owner retaining low quality staff like front office as a matter of cost reduction. Whatever may be the case, you do not get value for money at all at this hotel even at 50% discounted rates (the matter of discount talked about in length at point no. 8) 7. Guys give this hotel a miss if you are travelling with your kids / wife / parents. This hotel will certainly disappoint you. How can you expect an understaffed hotel having unruly employees with the owner on a desperate cost reduction mode even deliver you the basic services. Suggest you to opt this hotel only if you are on a severely low budget trip with all healthy boys on voyage who can handle their own luggage, can enjoy arguing with staff & wait endlessly for even getting basic to basic services 8. These guys try to show you the rates of their rooms displayed on a handy card. They show you the rooms and the terrace. This is actually a catch. No doubt the corridors and reception area of the hotel is clean but we don't live in corridors / reception area. Just in case you decide to get 'stuck' with them, negotiate up to at least 50% of the room rates displayed by them. THEY ACTUALLY would give you a discount of 50% since most of their rooms are vacant (although they mis-inform you all the rooms are occupied, actually, the lessee owner has taken only a couple of rooms on rent with which they do business). Negotiate & they will reduce 50% of their MRP very easily 9. Even if you get 50% discount in room rates, then also the hotel is not livable. No Value for money AT ALL 10. Guys, an honest unbiased advice to help you save your holiday / trip from getting ruined. Do not opt for this hotel. You are sure to repent if you do so even after Reading my first hand & very recent experience.

Nothing to say more on this hotel, they have clean and tidy atmosphere, well experienced staff who are always ready to help and serve. Good and quality food and very nice management. Especially appreciated is the location, it's just half a kilometre from both railway and bus station.

Nice location, good connectivity; friendly staff

Posted 26 Sep, 2014

The hotel location is in the very heart of the city and there is no disturbance of city rushes. The central railway station and the main bus stand are very near, a walk away. Airport is hardly 7 km from this hotel. Front office, service and house keeping staff are very friendly and well behaved. I would definitely stay here, on my future visits.
