Jim Corbett was born in Nainital and was known as a hunter of man-eating tigers, but in his lifetime, he became an avid photographer and conservationist of the very animals he used to shoot. The Jim Corbett National Park has been named in his honour and is considered one of the safest places for the Bengal Tiger. Corbett National Park is part of the much larger Corbett Tiger Reserve and spans over an impressive area of over 500 square kilometres covered in hills, grasslands, and marshlands.
