Corbyn's Cove Overview

Ranked 14 of 41 sightseeing in Port Blair

Corbyn’s Cove is situated near Port Blair and attracts tourists for its soft sandy beach with coconut palms. It is an ideal spot for swimming, scuba diving and boating and also for watching the sunset.

During the Japanese occupation of Corbyn’s Cove, pill boxes and bunkers were made which can be still seen on the beach. A major part of the beach was washed away and destroyed in the tsunami of 2004.

Nice Beach

It is main beach of Port Blair and has facilities for boat rides and jet skis. The beach is relatively clean and not very crowded. There are a couple of good places to eat near the beach. Carry an extra set of clothes and towels.

Good Evening Walk

Seems to be a standard place for people in Port Blair to congregate in. There is a good bar where one can sit and enjoy the view. Not much special about the beach except a leisurely walk and a view of the sunset. Watch the parking on a weekend as the place is pretty crowded.

Awesome place to just sit back and relax

Awesome place to just sit back and relax especially in the mornings.During the day in summers, its usually too hot and sun sets very early in Andaman around 5pm and nobody is allowed to go near the beach after that, so avoid going here during the day. Also few water sports activities available, boating, jekski etc

Corbyn Cove was a beautiful experience. It is not long Beach but a typical Cove. I must say it was lovely and lively. People enjoying water sports. Beach side snacks were awesome tasty.Specially the banana pakoda. The south Indian origin people taking in Hindi and creating mini India experience.Bring your sunglasses. Spend atleast half of a day. Because it's worth visiting this beach.

Decent rocky beach

This beach is close to Cellular Jail. Although it is a decent beach but once you visit the other beaches in Neil Island and Havelock Island, you will find it no where close to good beaches. There are some water activities on this island but my advise is to do all these activities on some other places like Elephant Beach in Havelock.

A beach near to city

Corbyn Cove Beach is very near from city, hardly 5 KMS from Sports Complex. Neatly maintained and clean. This beach is not so crowded, and mostly used for leisure or jet rides. Sarovar hotel is next to the beach. If you have enough time, then I will recommend to visit, else you can skip it.
