We were a group of 9 friends who went in February 2014, to see the Tigers at the jungle reserve. Courtyard House is located about 4/5 Kim's from the forest reserve. We travelled to Nagpur by rail. One can also take the flight. It takes roughly 5/6 hours to reach from Nagpur Railway Station by a mini bus so all 9 could travel together. We stayed for 4N/ 4D. We could sense the warmth of their welcome even before we reached. They called us on our mobiles regularly to guide us to the hotel which is located off the main road. We were warmly greeted on arrival; the rooms are huge and have every modern convenience to make ones stay comfortable. The bathrooms are large and reappointed with all modern sanitary fittings. However if ones particular, advise to carry your preferred brand of shampoo / soap. Though the hotel does provide a complete toilet with towel . . Our every wish was enthusiastically executed. If we felt like having tea or coffee at any time the same was served immediately. The food at the courtyard is mostly vegetarian, though there is always a chicken dish served. The food was delicious. At breakfast delicious parathas were made in addition to the regular fare. One thing we missed was a BBQ, as there were no Skewers available, may I suggest to BBQ lovers; That they should enquire if they have the facilities now; and if not, carry some with them. It's a lovely setting for a BBQ. One suggestion for the Hotel management; they ought to keep all the equipment for a BBQ with coals, skewers etc. All the rooms have a Split A/C, Heater, Fridge & tea coffee maker ; there regular tea, green tea and coffee sachets. In the nights the staff would keep a hot water bag in the folds of the blankets to keep us warm as in winter the temperature can drop to about 6 degrees C. When we returned from the safaris, the hotel staff would be waiting for us with hot and moist towels which were so refreshing as the temperature had dropped considerably. After refreshing ourselves with the hot towels, tea and coffee was ready along with biscuits and hot bhajias. Would advise carrying proper warm clothes if one goes in winter. With a cap to cover your ears, also light gloves to keep your fingers warm. As it gets windy in the evenings and nights. The staffs; they were super they always had a smile and offered great smile. Strongly recommend to all, Indians or foreigners, if its Kanha then it must be in Courtyard House. There is a TV room, and they do have a bar. However would advise to carry your own if you are particular.
This one was an amazing stay. The hotel is like a Haveli situated deep within the forest. Brand new hotel which is really well maintained, the rooms are huge and spacious. Service is personal and food is scrumptious. A perfect hotel to live in for the ultimate jungle safari.
