The hotel is designed nicely and the room was very cute, simple, clean and nice, with a cute balcony that had comfortable chairs and plenty of place for hanging laundry I got sick while staying in the hotel and the staff was very nice and helpful and considerate. They let me stay longer than the time I booked and I got a ride to the bus station from the hotel manager. The food and drinks in breakfast were fine.
For people who are looking for budget hotels, its a worth experience. They have redecorated balcony where you can find swings, greenery and place to enjoy. Evening where you sit and relax having a mug of tea or coffee, read a book and enjoy sea breeze. In short a small beautiful property.
I really liked this Daphne Hotel, it's located in the hub of Mahabalipuram which is like a mini Goa and its a 5 to 10 minute walk to the beach. The first impression of the hotel might throw you off, it looks pretty small from the outside, but it's actually way bigger than it looks. There is small dining area decorated with white fairy lights draped here and there, it has a very good vibe to it. There are a lot of plants in the hotel which I thought was quite nice, I love how each floor has a common veranda outside, it was very spacious. The rooms are outstanding, it was insanely neat and has very old school Indian furniture and comfortable beds. They have balconies, though I didn't have the best view I enjoyed hanging out there the most. They have another room where I think 3 or 4 people can stay, though that didn't have a balcony, it was really big and spacious. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The is a restaurant called Moonrakers which is on the main road of Mahabalipuram which is also owned by these guys. This is a must do thing! The food is to die for, especially tava style seafood, so make sure you grab a meal there! Or you can just can ask the staff, they'll get your food for you to your room, like I said they are really nice like that. My overall experience and stay here was really nice, though I stayed there for one day, I enjoyed this pleasant stay at this simple and elegant hotel. I would definitely recommend everyone to stay here, especially if you're a student, the prices are reasonably affordable. I will definitely come back to this hotel, the next time I am in Mahabalipuram.
I stayed there with my wife for three days in January 2014. The place is best place away from home with clean rooms and mosquito nets. Good view from the rooms. The hotel has three floors and the upper floors are even more comfortable and good. Staff is very friendly with prompt service.
