Best Stay in Srinagar

Posted 8 Jul, 2016

If you are travelling with a family or as a couple, Hotel Dar-es-Salam is the place to stay in Srinagar. I have been to two other 5 star Hotels, which are good, but they do not match the ambience, the location, the excellent service and value for money that this Hotel provides. I use make my trip a lot for my travel and honestly I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to discover the feeling of staying at a resort hotel.

Staff were friendly ; recommendable hotel

Posted 26 Aug, 2015

Fantastic property. Had the privilege of visiting both in the summer and winter. The view of the lake and the mountain range beyond is breathtaking. Hotel Daressalaam is like a home away from home. Staff is extremely friendly and nice and the food is the best you can get in Srinagar. Highly recommend this little gem, try Kashmir food and enjoy the place with your family.

Comfortable rooms with excellent ambience

Posted 12 Apr, 2015

The best place to stay in Srinagar is Daressalaam Hotel. This is a boutique hotel, calm and serene, located on the banks of Nagin Lake. The view is breathtaking and one can see the snow clad mountains. The hotel has a beautiful garden filled with tulips, daffodils etc. Rooms are very comfortable and the ambience is excellent. The staff are very friendly and food is very good. It is not very expensive but booking has to be done well in advance. One can take a Shikara ride in the lake which is much cleaner and less crowded than the Dale lake. Small shopping like fashion jewellery and flower seeds can be done for reasonable prices from the shikaras. But one has to bargain. It is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the scenery.

No activity, average staff and service

Posted 17 Oct, 2014

Hotel was good. There was a little problem in finding the hotel. Bus stand was at walking distance from the hotel. I stayed there for 8 days. Per day tariff for the room was Rs. 3500. Behaviour of the staff was medium. There was little problem with the room service. It was not clean as it must be. It was not according to the rent. No problem in check in and check out. View was not visible from the room. It was newly built hotel. No activity was there. I had food there. Both veg and non-veg food there. It was okay. Parking facility was available there. Car was booked by the tourist people. Activity must be there. Swimming pool should be there. Srinagar as a destination is good. Hotel's location was average. Appearance wise, it was good. Overall, service was average. Room was below average. Food was average.

Well equipped rooms with nice facilities

Posted 9 Sep, 2014

After Coming from All the destinations which included one of the best hotels at each place we ( couples with Kids spent a night at Dar Es Salaam. My friend who was with us throughout the trip wasn't convinced about Dar Es Salaam ( before we reached and wanted to check in at Lalit as he always want to stay in best. At night when we reached Dar Es Salaam from the entrance it looked as if its a small Hotel and we have made bad deal staying here. But the fun began when we checked in and saw our rooms which were very well equipped and had all Basic amenities which one would require to stay comfortably.

Located well with helpful staff

Posted 19 Aug, 2014

I had visited to this hotel with my family for relaxation purpose. The hotel location was nice. The staff were helpful and cooperative. The room provided was spacious, clean and maintained. The appearance of the hotel was nice from both inside and outside. The food was delightful with both veg and non-veg. They served good dishes in their restaurant. The hotel was quite expensive. Overall the hotel services were satisfactory and I would recommend this hotel to other travellers.

Overall nice stay

Posted 3 Jul, 2014

The location of the hotel was stunning and the ambiance inside was overwhelming. Rooms were neat and clean and the service was excellent. The pains taken by the owner to maintained the hotel as well as his personal attention to details makes your stay enjoyable. Would strongly recommend for a family.

It was really a pleasure to have a stay in Daar-e-slam, would recommend everyone to at least experience it once. Rooms were spacious and give a royal feeling. Garden is sumptuous . What to say about the room service. I would simply say it was awesome. If you are planning for Kashmir please make sure that you plan for Daar-e-slam.

Hotel is a Heritage Property

Posted 26 Mar, 2013

We stayed in this Hotel, oh sorry in this Home for four nights from 24th November to 28th November and we passed our wonderful time here as it is located Right at the bank of Nageen lake. On the basis of TripAdvisor reviews I also insisted Mr Khurram Hussain to allot me a Lake view room and incidentally I got it also. But after my first day stay in Hotel and after spending my time in lounges and common areas on each floor I finally requested Mr. Musadiq Hussain to change my room and to allot me a room nearby this lounge area which have beautiful views of the lake and on availability I got it also. Since this hotel is a Heritage Property they have kept the original Character intact and lounges and common areas are so nicely decorated with an amazing range of classical furniture, carpets, decorative items and upholstery that any body will like to pass his maximum time in this area. I will definitely tell all rooms are equally good with all identical facilities with tea and coffee maker also. The Rooms and all areas are very neat and clean and very nicely maintained equipped with centrally heating system. As during our stay due to snowfall in surroundings Srinagar temperature was very low and due to only their centrally heating system we passed our time comfortably here. The Hotel is power back up with full capacity generator so during frequent power failure during our stay all heaters and everything was on during this time also. I know for sure, if I were to ever go back to Srinagar, this is the place I would like to stay.

Room gives a superb view of Nageen Lake

Posted 30 May, 2013

This hotel was one of the finest stay of my tour in Kashmir. I read on net about it but was not sure about it but after being in this hotel I must say that this is realy a nice place to stay. Lovely view from my room, fortunetly I had lake view room and it gives a superb view of nageen lake. Being west facing it gives a superb sunset view from the room. Central heating is very nice plus it has heating blanckets. The quality of blanckets are very nice, coushion of bed is also very good. Being in this hotel is also giving you chance to see some of the finest antique collection. There are few living rooms in hotel where one can take seat and chitchat, it is decently & elegently desigened with antique arts. Cleanliness is remarkable in hotel. Another worth watching is the garden of hotel. The varity of flowers is superb in the garden. Hotel has a nice dining hall where you can eat with elegant dining room. Running hot water is also available. Hotel also arranges bone fire in the night after dinner which all can enjoy in garden. It is a royal hotel in real sense. There are some small areas of improvement I wish to suggest like an exhust fan is needed in bathroom. Similarly a bucket is also required in bathing area. I also want to mention that the hotel is so well managed that I can share with an example: we requsted room cleaning in the morning when we returned in the evening we found not just hotel items but our personal belongings lying in the room were also kept very nicely. This was something really very interesting and remarkable. I wish the hotel more & more success and best of such service in future so that it result in delighted customers like us.

Nice experience

Posted 26 Apr, 2012

Location is beautiful. Right on Nigeen lake and the best thing to do is just sit in the well maintained garden and look at the lovely views. We were there in early April and the mornings were just glorious. It's at the end of the old city area though and far from main tourist areas of Srinagar. The staff is well meaning but inexperienced. Not all rooms have good views. I was disappointed with mine on the first day of stay. But got a change the next day and that room was much better. Very nice for a laid back time but not good for people looking for action.
