Dargah is the place Ajmer is famous for. It is the tomb of Khwaja Salim Chisti (garib nawaz, means protector of the poor). This is a must visit place. It's a quite different feeling inside..But, beware of the local beggars there. They will come behind you for any distance, till they get something, saying " if you give them alm, garib nawaz will protect your family, otherwise he will curse them etc. " Just give them a blind eye. If they notice any attention towards them, they will tighten their grip. And so is the people inside the tomb. They will force you to put money inside which I really felt pathetic and disgrace to Khwaja. You can't take camera inside. There are people in shops who offer us to keep our cameras safely, but there is a govt locker before the dargah gate. You can carry Mobile and purse inside. Except near the main tomb, we can see people taking photos and selfies without any restrictionsThere are so many people there to help you to see and pray inside the dargah, but I got disgusted with the beggars and the people are forcing to give money.

Poor Benefactor and Great Leader

Shrine of Sufi Saint Khwaja Muin-Ud-Din Chishti, the shrine has the grave of revered Saint. Death Anniversary of the Saint means Urs is celebrated every year according to the Hijri Calendar in the month of Rajab on 06 and 07 day. To pay the homage to Sufi Saint people come from all over the country and from abroad too. Government makes special arrangements for the visitors, for their comfort. Kalanders from Mehrauli Delhi, remains the major attraction as they are called the friend of Gharib Nawaz, and they offer the Cover Sheet on the grave which has the work of Gold and Silver. In India the spiritual chain of the chisti order was established by Khwaja Muin-Ud-Din. To attain the knowledge he visited to Samarkand and Bukhara, and he left Bukhara for higher education and knowledge but he continued his prayers and meditation, and he became the Disciple of Usman Harooni. He was well acquainted with Muslim culture and religious life, and they both have travelled to Holy Mecca And Medina in Middle east. His period remains from 1141 to 1236, and he was the founder of spiritual chain of chishti, throughout the country. His life was dedicated for oors and he is also known as the Poor Benefactor and he was great leader among the Muslim and Non Muslims. To reach to the main Tomb, first you have to enter through the main Gate called Usmani Gate and then to the Shahjahani Gate, and you are just in front of the main gate of the holy shrine of Sufi Saint Khwaja Gharib Nawaz. A very special Chadar was offered by PM Modi, Barack Obama and many celebrities seek his blessings by their presence to the Dargah Of Khwaja Muin-Ud-Din Chishti.
