History in ruins
The murals depicting the life of Tipu Sultan and his battles is sheltered inside the summer palace. Photography is not allowed to preserve them. I recommend taking a guide to get a clearer and an insightful picture of the life of the Tiger of Mysore.

A great place
Daria Daulat Bagh is a huge one with a great serenity. One will be shocked to see the architecture. Though photography is allowed in the open areas, the same is prohibited inside the main enclosure. Overall a place worth the visit.

Symbol of History and Art
The palace was built by Tipu Sultan during his reign on Mysore state a few kilometers away from the fort. The palace is entire made of Teak wood and was constructed in late 1700.The feature that attracts the most is the paintings all around the palace. Be it the depiction of various wars fought by Tipu Sultan, Hyder Ali or that of British invasion and defeat or all the intricate floral painting all around the inner walls, every stroke of the brush shows the craftsmanship and passion of the artists of that age.A rectangular complex set in the middle of a sprawling garden, the Daria Daulat Bagh, this monument is well-maintained and is also store of many artifacts and memorabilia of the bygone era.

Place that speaks volumes about history but poorly maintained
Daria Daulat was the last place in our road trip to Srirangapatna and Mysore. This place speaks volumes about Tippu's time. Wonderful architecture but poorly maintained. If you want to have a glimpse of Tipu's life do visit the place. What I loved about the place is the painting displayed inside and the pictorial descriptions about Tippu's time wars and how the regime ended. You can cover this place as part of your tour/trip to Srirangapatna. A road trip is best to cover Mysore and Srirangapatna in two days.

Beautiful appearance and mural paintings
This is a summer palace built by Tippu sultan, who ruled erstwhile Mysore state from 1782 to 1799. The palace is amidst a green lawn, with trees around. Bagh -in Hindi and urdu means -garden. The palace is a small one, single storied, but very beautiful to look at. It is of a different style and type than the Grand Mysore palace. There are mural paintings depicting the Tippu dynasty and Mysore wars fought between Hyder Ali, Tippu and Britishers.

Beautiful paintings from floor to ceiling
How do you like to see a Persian carpet on the ceiling? Here you can see. So colorful. So intricate. What a color combination. In the walls small window kind of designs are there with intricate motifs. The war scene on one side wall is nothing less than Versailles of France. Tippu's dress is worth seeing for the embroidery work done. Thank God, the Archaeological department is maintaining it. Otherwise people would have scraped out all the paintings. The garden around is well maintained.
