The Cief Diety Is A form Of Lord Vishnu

It is believed that the temple first built by King Nandivarman, though originally it was built and expanded by Cholas, and main gopuram Gateway Tower is 130 feet high and seven tiered, in 14th century, is now situated on Gandhi Road, is the sacred town's main Lord Vishnu Temple. The chief deity is a form of Lord Vishnu, known as Varadaraja, means King who bestows the benediction. It is believed that the temple stands on the site where Lord Brahma performed a yagna, sacrifice, to invoke Lord Vishnu's presence. Among the temple's jewels there is a Necklace presented by Robert Clive, which adorns the deity during the Garuda Festival. An ancient architect Vishwakarma Sthapathis skill architecture is significant, this temple is famous for many things especially a stone chain which was sculpted from a single stone. It is a great divine destination and a great attraction as thousands of devotees are coming to have divine insight.

Pigeons carved of stones

This Temple is located at Vishnu kanchi as many Vishnu temples are there in this area. 1000 pillared mandapam is first feast when we enter inside this temple, it has a chain made up of stone also the temple has lots of pigeon made up of stones which is natural.
