Large Dam and serene lake with boating

Dhom Dam is in the Wai District near Panchgani & is a Massive Dam. Due to creation of this Dam on the Krishna River, there is a Huge Lake that extends as far as the eye can see. It is a lovely, serene place to visit & it has boating facilities too. There is also a small restaurant with Toilets, which is good, as the place is otherwise devoid of any tourist facilities. There are also several Tents set up, so I presume that people must be renting them out to stay there, but I would not recommend the same. Due to the poor monsoon this year, the water level was very low when we visited the place in Jan, but there were some visitors enjoying the boat rides & quite a few Ducks resting near the waterfront, which made a pretty sight. The route is a bit complicated, so I would advise using your GPS, as there are hardly any sign posts. A nice place to visit, if you have not been there before.
