A nice place foe hangout and Bhajiya

Dumas is famous for bhajiya. People often visit Dumas on Sunday morning to hangout at beach and to have tasty pakoda (bhajiya) of Dumas. There are two beaches in Dumas. One is near langar which is not much good. Another one is famous and has water near to its shore. Apart from this, Dumas is one of the top 10 haunted places of India so avoid going there in night. Althogh police don't even allow visiting Dumas at night.

A good place for the weekend

A good place for the weekend. One can find great "bhajiyas" to eat, and lots of other items. Camel ride, horse ride, other rides for kids. Further going ahead, there is a beach and it's fairly clean. One can spend nice evening or even mornings.

Sultanabad

This place is called Golden Sand or Sultanabad. This is the beach from which the Britishers entered India. Here a big size anchor is also kept which is totally unmovable. This beach sand looks as the blanket of Gold is being laid on the ground, that is why it is called Golden Sand. Covered by Big rocks which makes the beach more beautiful.

Walk half a mile on garbage before you reach

A complete disappointment! Access to beach is a narrow, damaged and uneven driveway followed by a large patch of garbage strewn land. This is where you feel like running back home without going to the beach. The beach in itself is a black sand one and crowd is chaotic. A notable feature is the variety of animals and their feces you see on the beach from cow, horse, dogs to camels. Sorry for sounding negative about Dumas but this is my honest feedback to those who are planning to go there from a long distance. For locals, this is definitely an accessible recreation spot with benefit of proximity.

A Seashore destination

Situated between the mouths of Tapti and Mindhola rivers, Dumas has seen its shore line recede by more than a few kilometers during the last decades. The receding shore line has left behind a huge swamp. It is only during the high tides of full moon and no moon that one gets to see the sea close by. So if you have a beach destination in mind, please look elsewhere.Dumas used to open onto the Arabian sea a few decades ago and therefore acquired the characteristics of a beach town. Vacation homes, sanatoriums, food stalls, open spaces, abound. Being very close to the thriving city of Surat, it enjoys a steady traffic of visitors in the evenings. It has very few hotels and they are not even budget quality. That further reinforces the evening destination characteristic of the place.

Enjoyable Beach

Very beautiful sunset sight and enjoyable beach. Nice for street food which is having slight spice and lot more for fun like for bathing. And also for playing some game in water. Liked it, is very wonderful experience to play football in the water with friends.
