Mecca of Indian Cricket

There are no words that can describe this place. One should be physically present here to feel the adrenaline rush through their veins.I have been lucky to have visited this place quite a number of times in different ways. First as an hardcore cricket fan to watch a match, then as a team assistant for the KKR IPL Team and the last time as a guest by invitation of Saurav Ganguly. No matter how many times I have been to this ground there is something absolutely surreal about it. One thing that makes this ground mind blowing are the cricket crazy fans. Whatever the match maybe, you will see a crowd cheering on their favourite side here.In Fact it would be right to say that cricket is a religion here, Eden Garden is the temple, The players are the Gods and the frenzy fans are the devotees. For those planning a visit here, I would suggest to go there when there is a match as then you would understand the importance of this landmark.

Unarguably the Best of all

Old is gold. The Eden Gardens both its iconic garden with its pagoda or cricket ground represents a great past and the bright future of Kolkata and its people. My first visit in early forty's the day We lost after a brilliant century by GS Ramchand. A beautiful lush ground most ideal for a good game of cricket. Surrounded by the river Highly and its ghats on west, the governor;s house, Sawed Minar and esplanade on the east all within stone's throw from it. Fort Williams, Golf club, the maidan and race course on the south adds to its charm. On the North the Calcutta High Court, great and century old churches and temples makes it an ideal place for one and all whether he is in love with cricket or not. Just on the western side flanked by an indoor stadium. One of the biggest cricket arena and stadium is such a romantic place to be.

A nice stadium

This is a great place to watch a live cricket match. We enjoyed an ipl match - KKR vs KXIP here. The madness about cricket in Kolkata becomes worship. Great facilities with greatest look made our trip memorable.

Mecca for Indian Cricket Fans

There is nothing like watching a cricket match in which India is playing at Eden Gardens. There have been many famous matches here. The tickets have to be pre-booked (or you can get passes in case you know the right people). The stadium is huge and very easy to travel to (Walking distance from Esplanade Metro station / Bus Stand).Visit during match days for the best experience

Big and clean Garden

The Eden Garden is a big and good garden in West Bengal. I enjoyed very much by seeing the match. The place was clean and good. The set and the looks of the ground is wonderful. During the match it was fully loaded with high crowd but the ground service was good.

Dream place

I had gone there on IPL 6 against the match between Kolkata Knight Riders vs Rajasthan Royals where Kolkata won the match by 5 wickets. When I first entered in the stadium it was like a dream. The grass was shining like someone put a mirror on the ground.
