Crowded with all sorts of rides and eateries

We were staying at Leela Palace. So we thought this is the nearest beach and we will enjoy it more . But this was also like marina with horses taking you for a ride, all kind of games like shooting balloons, all sorts of eateries like chips, sundal, bonda, bajji, etc. Though there is a walkway nicely tiled, it is also full of eateries. Dogs are there uncontrolled on the beach . Beach as such was nice though the sea was dark. There were at least 7 waves coming to the shore. People were swimming, playing balls, sitting on the sand, playing games, eating snacks. Families and friends were there. Nobody in swim suits . Some boys were doing summersaults to jump into the sea. Very nice to watch . The best part was on the other side of the road, there was a pet adoption center with cute puppies and kittens. Some of them were given a wash and grooming session . Another good part is Uber cabs were available at the entrance itself.

One of the best beaches in Chennai

In the evening the beach will be bustling with people in the beach. It is much cleaner than Marina beach. The access to restaurants and small road side is added advantage. The crowd also is less in this beach.

Elliot beach

Elliot's Beach or the Bessie is located in Besant Nagar, Chennai, India which forms the end-point of the Marina Beach shore, and is named after Edward Elliot. It has the Velankanni Church and the Ashtalakshmi Kovil nearby.

Bessant Nagar beach/Elliots beach is heavenly

Myself and my friend went to bessant Nagar beach one fine morning around 6 am! It was so cloudy, with some light peeping from the clouds. It was literally like a dream when I just saw the landscape at that moment with the birds chirping by the side

Beach to visit

Nice beach, clean and cool place to visit in Chennai. A lot of nearby places to visit like theosophical society head quarters and zoo. Lots of greenery in nearby places. A lot of restaurants and fast food shops. A perfect sea shore to spend your evening.

Nice beach but dirty shoreline

The beach itself is located in a very nice place, surrounded by food joints and good parking facilities. But unfortunately the beach is maintained very poorly by the authorities, broken bottles of liquor, thrash and all makes it a downer. But if you don't want to go into the water then there is plenty of time to walk around and enjoy the breeze and the hot food.

So called Bessy Beach by locals

Located in Besant Nagar and one of the clean beach in Chennai when compared to Marina and other beaches. Good to spend evening and enjoy sunset. One can visit even during night time and it is calm during nights.

Great place to go

Really a great place to go and have fun with friends and family. We need to walk almost 2 km inside to reach the place. We are not allowed to take our vehicle there.

Spectacular place for relaxation with resorts

There are many rides to enjoy, especially one ride which has one box which rotates 360 degree in both clockwise and anticlockwise direction. Water rides are spectacular. There are many water rides which we can enjoy throughout the day. We should go to the place before 10am, so that we can enjoy all rides. During Summer season special shows are organized, which is mind blowing to watch. Resort is also available there. We can use it. Experts are there to rescue in case any emergency, so there is no need for panic.

Nice beach to visit

The beach is a nice place to visit and it is quite different from Marina Beach. In this beach you can find lot of restaurants nearby the beach and the beach is very near to road and not far like Marina Beach.
