Piuos place where Lord Rama left his footprints

We reached here after having darshan at Saatchi Hanuman temple, which is adjacent to it. Placed at a small hillock, it is the highest point of the Rameswaram . According to story Lord Rama, Hanuman and others ascended at this hillock and looked towards Lanka and planned how to reach there. It was lord Hanuman who took a long leap towards Lanka from this place. Before leaving, Lord Rama left His foot prints at the same site .Now this is famous as Ramar Padam or Ram Jharokha. After ascending about thirty steps, you reach at the Mandapam region, see many pillars all around. Cool breeze of air welcomes you there with panoramic view of Rameshwaram Island. We went inside sanctum, where saw a foot print on a Chakra, bowed our head and came out, highly satisfied.
