Worth a visit

It was a very short visit to get a glimpse of this famous clock tower. Its in the middle of a busy market place, the Sardar Market. So parking car nearby is a big pain. However, with our driver staying nearby I could take a quick pick. Was not really interested to venture in the market place or to get on top of the clock tower but a quick close shot.

Too congested and not properly maintained

The Ghanta Ghar, a historical place of Jodhpur is presently in very pitiable condition with marketing activities going on in all directions, it is a bit difficult even to reach the place. The place is not well maintained in terms of cleanliness and joy.

Centrally located

The Clocktower is located in the center of the blue city. It has huge market surrounding it. Where you can find all kind of goods. Also, it is closer to some cheap accommodations in the city if you are planning on a low budget travel. One of the most happening place in the city with many roof top cafes with the view of the Mehrangarh fort and Beautiful Sunsets. If you want to get the taste of the blue city this is the place to begin with.

Just a clock tower in the middle of the market

Nothing exceptional about it. It's just a clock tower in the middle of the busy 'Nayi sadak' a local market for your everyday necessities. It may be a heritage structure, but largely ignored by the locals. There is nothing much to do here, except get a picture clicked with the tower in the background.

Lighting makes it look beautiful

Best time to visit is during evening or night because of lighting and the location is quite crowded. You can buy local jewellery from Ladies sitting at roadside.

A perfect vintage look

If you a travelling to Jodhpur, your travel will be not completed with walking around the Tower. Jodhpur Sardar Market lays slap bang in the city Centre. It has a beacon to signal its location, the imposing Clock Tower that was built by Maharaja Sardar Singh from whom the market takes it name. In fact, the tower dominates the entire scenario. If you are looking for nice shot for your camera. You can start walking from the Mehrangarh Fort. It is steep down on the rocky path, after 15-20 minutes walk you will approach towards the Tower Chowk; it is called Sardar Chowk also. Clock Tower is the busiest bazar of Jodhpur. It is magnificent old Clock Tower with an old clock. This clock is unique. It is from London, manufactured by the same clock company, who manufactured clock for the London Clock Tower. This place is center point for the nearby villagers for shopping. Here you will see thousand, this market primarily comprises of traders who trade in sorts of items including clothes, spices, tea leaves, petroleum jelly and local cosmetics. This is despite the fact that this town does not produce any of this. Here are Few Tips: 1. Book in advance to avail 25% discounts. 2. Per Adult Charges is Rs. 1800 (Without discounts). I paid Rs.1200 after discount.3. Wear Shoes and no open slippers or else you will have to change there and wear disoriented shoes worn by lots of people previously.4. It will take approx. 2 Hrs. (including safety brief ups, gearing etc.)5. Drink water before you start, because it will take energy to do.6. Follow the instructions properly7. Don't carry loose belongings; you will have to leave them the entire counter. The Jodhpur Flying Fox is longer than the Neemrana one :)

Good, Big and Attractive place

It is a very cool place to visit. It is very big and attractive. It shows the proper tradition of Rajasthan people. Here you could find many small shops of various items. It has a very good MIshriLal hotel, which is famous for Lassi and Rabadi.
