Nice landsceps. Even 10 cameras not suffcient to capture the scenic beauty

We should have photograph with traditional dress of Ooty tea leaf collection staff. We should not make noise and silently enjoy the greenery and clouds moving over our heads.

The other side of Ooty

Situated 27km from main town, the wench/ropeway is now closed for tourist, but the rock can still be sneaked at on your way. Its an absolute must for long drive, or if someone wants to avoid the crowd in the town. There is also a possibility to stay overnight, and the cottage looks cosy-however the booking needs to be done through the Chennai office. Photography and videography isn't permitted.

We were awed by the misty covered hills

Where has this jewel been hiding all my life? I am a frequent visitor to Ooty and no one has ever told me about Glenmorgan. When we were picking up spices from Ooty on this visit, the owner told us about Glenmorgan his exact words were, "it is paradise on earth". While driving back to Masinagudi where we were staying, we saw the little Glenmorgan sign and decided to check it out. The drive was simply fabulous. The roads were amazing and the views were breathtakingly beautiful. Glenmorgan is filled with tea estates and rolling hills. When we reached the main town we were really awed by the misty covered hills. We were ready to turn back when we were told to go 1 km further. We did and all I can say is WOW. Lying peaceful in the foothills was one of the most beautiful lakes I have ever seen. There is a little walkway where you can walk about or just sit and stare at the lake, which I did. s an overwhelming experience as all you can hear are birds. I felt so close to God. It is a little cut off and you don't get the crowds like Pykara Dam gets. If you just want to spend some time with nature and reflecting on your life, Glenmorgan is the perfect place for you.

Average place to see

In case visitor are interested to see tea plantation this is the place with tea plants all around. Take about 2 hrs from Payakara lake. Beware of taxi/jeep drivers as they will try to fleece visitors charging about Rs.1500/- giving rosy pictures of the area.
