Hindu Temple

Beautifully managed hindu temple right in the heart of the city. Clean and disciplined religious place. Crowded during evening. Even though it was crowded Darshan was very easy. Systematic entry for gents and women. Overall good experience.

Govindji ki Jai !!

We were blessed to be here during mid morning Aaarti ( prayers offers to God Krishna) !!! I realised the importance of waiting for the things one wants in life !!!Vision / Darshan of Lord Krishna is offered only for specific time and devotees need to wait for the opening of curtains. The 30 mins in the temple amid bhajans ( singing praises to god), chanting of mantras ( chanting of God name like Govind bolo hari Go pal bolo) were amazing. The water from the Well in the temple tastes differently than that offered from RO supply and it worth tasting. The garden beside the temple is vast one. However, again, Rajasthan tourism should take care of cleaning and maintain it properly. Most of the instruments in Children play area were broken and were even harmful to some extent. If you want experience some blissful moments during rushing around of historical places in Jaipur, this is the place !!

I am a regular visitor to the Govind deoji temple. I generally go there in the morning time and have good darshan. I get a parking nearby and the crowd is limited too ... Jai ho.

The oldest and beautiful temple

This is one of the oldest temple & known to many esp the Jaipur residents who've been living in the city since years. To be honest, I never used to like to visit the temple because of the crowd & disarrangements. But over the years, much has improved & one just loves the kind of devotion & aura exists in the temple. Behind the temple there is tail katora too. Being a civil engineer I have to mention about the famous construction marvel of RCC slab which holds the record in Guinness Book of world records for longest span slab of 119feet. During Janmashtmi, the experience & soulful enchanting for the devotion of Lord Krishna is mesmerizing which gives one a high for a lifetime/

Truly divine experience

Jai Shri Krishna! I was fortunate to get an opportunity to visit Govind Devji in my recent visit to Jaipur. I reached there at evening aarti time and the experience was truly wonderful. It was crowded and I was unable to see the deity clearly however, later they split the group into separate lines for males and females, every single person was allowed to enter the main temple and I clicked this picture there itself.Truly divine experience.

Flute Playing Lord Krishna

The presiding deity of this unusual temple is the flute playing Lord Krishna, also known as Govind Dev. This image originally has come from The Govindeoji Temple in Brindavan, first it was brought to Amber then to the ruling family of Jaipur to Save from Mughal's iconoclastic zeal. It is believed that the temple was a garden pavilion called Suraj Mahal, and Sawai Jai Singh was residing here as his dream city was under construction. One night King dreamt that Lord Krishna is telling to return to him and he moved the Chandra Mahal Opposite end of the Garden and installed as the Guardian deity of Jaipur's ruler. Behind the temple a Mughal style Garden known as Jai Niwas Bagh. In this Govind Dev Ji Temple seven times Aartis are offered when devotees can have the insight of Lord Govinda.
