It was a vacation trip along with my family. I went to Srinagar in the month of July 2016. I reserved a room at this hotel directly. The location of the hotel was very good as it was in the city center. It was easy to reach and easy to locate. It was nearby to the sightseeing places. The hotel look was very good with the overall looks. It was attractive with the interior and exterior looks. I liked it. The front desk was excellent with the administration. They completed the booking process on time. They were cordial and active. They guided us very well. We took a deluxe room. It was very good with the maintenance of all the requirements. It was hygienic and spacious. The bathroom was clean. The room service was good and they were prompt. No complimentary food. The food was tasty and delicious. Free WiFi facility was available. No fun amenities. The overall service was excellent and very well satisfactory. I recommend this hotel to all other travelers.
I travelled this hotel in the month of February. It was a holiday trip with family. The destination was good. The environment was good and convenient. Sight of the hotel was good. The front office and reception was good and the staff's were cooperative. There were no delays in check in checkout. The staff's at the hotel were very good. The rooms provided were good as it was maintained properly. The service provided was good. The food and drink provided was average and there were no complimentary food provided. It was a good experience.
We stayed at Grand Mumtaz Hotel for 2 night (9-10th May) in Srinagar which was the last leg of our 1-week Kashmir tour, and kind of spoiled the sweet memories of the rest of the trip I don't know where to begin. To be honest I wasn't keen enough on this hotel in the first place but it came highly recommended by some of my tour & travel friends, so I decided to take their advice but ended up in regret The building and interior is pretty good so does the rooms, spacious, refurnished & fitted with big LCD screen TV. But the service, amenities & facilities sucks, staff doesn't have a slightest idea about hospitality (well that may be true for all of the Kashmir hotels, but very prominent for this one) When we arrived, I proceeded to the reception for check-in, to my surprise the front office staff told me "Sir you have already checked-in, a while ago" so I asked them "how can I already check-in if I am here" to that they pointed towards a couple and said "that's you". I said what Apparently they check-in someone else with similar sounding name as me in the room which was supposed to be booked for me. It took them another 20-25mins to figure out what is wrong after they called up the tour operator, the other guy they check-in was not even supposed to be booked in Grand Mumtaz Hotel but in another hotel named grand mamta, they didn't pay attention to the hotel name I guess. I thought of it as a human error and ignored hopping the things would get better. But they don't Next, after we checked in and changed we decided to check the facilities at the hotel, which are prominently boosted on their website as well as everywhere in the building. First we went to check the pool it was pretty dirty, next was fitness center it was closed with piles of junk lying at the entrance gate. So we went back to the reception, below as the real conversation (as accurately as I remember):. Me: The pool is very dirty FO(Front office): Srinagar weather is very cold, it is not advisable to swim (Me thinking: I don't need your advice I need a clean pool). Me: what about fitness center FO: It's under renovation (Me thinking: You just put the pile of rubbish there to make people believe that lol). Me: How about SPA FO: Sir there is no SPA, you won't find any SPA in entire Kashmir (Me thinking: why is it in your menu cards you have put in the rooms). Me: okay how can I CONNECT to Hotel WiFi FO: Sir, it is still under installation ad it will be available after 2 days (Me thinking: You know we are checking out in 2 days, and that is why you saying "2-days" so confidently) and I told my wife that they gonna say the same to the customer who check-in 2 days later and I was damn right, just read one of the latest review by another traveler who stayed on 13th-may, still no WiFi why you need WiFi. You are in Srinagar you should check-out some places around She went on to suggest us a pizza place me and my wife were shocked. Did we go all the way to Kashmir to have pizza. But we cannot surf WiFi in our room. Really The restaurant called atrium situated at the center of the building and open from every single side (including the top) is so ill planned that you wake-up at your 4th floor room in the morning due to the noise of the customer's having breakfast. My suggestion, use it a coffee shop Anyway fast forward to dinner time. Tables were not cleaned, glasses & dishes were not wiped, the water they were serving were not even clear, the chinaware looks as is was bought a decade ago in a garage sale (the pieces doesn't even match). The food was awful, but somehow I was trying to sail though just avoid ruining our trip, but I got tipped over when I pointed out to the captain that the rice is hard. Instead of accepting and changing it, he started arguing and thus became the victim of my wrath. Anyway nothing improved at the breakfast of the dinner and even the next breakfast, even though I keep pointing out the glasses and dishes are being brought without even wiping. Choice of breakfast is very limited. They don't serve cereals, juices, sausage or beak beans. When you order for 2 omelets they bring 2 half of the it (really you think you can save a lot by giving half omelets? ). My advice to all stay in the hotel is you just want a room to sleep don't expect any service, but then again if you want just a room why pay such a hefty price?
Overall, my experience was good in this hotel. It was conveniently located. I went there in own car. Outer look of the hotel was average but inner look was good. Check-in and check-out process was not delayed. Room and cleaning service was okay. Staff behaviour was polite and friendly. I visited there with my family in the month of July 2012 and it was a relaxing trip. Rooms were comfortable. Pillow cover and bed sheet was hygienic. I enjoyed my food in the hotel and it was good. Varieties were available there in the menu card and both veg and non-veg varieties were served. They provided buffet system only for breakfast. Swimming pool was there. Parking facility was there. It was value for money paid. I will recommend this hotel to other travellers.
I booked this hotel room through a dealer. Srinagar destination is relaxed and lovely place for outing. Hotel location was fine. Look wise hotel was attractive. Check in and check out process was okay. Staff service was Satisfactory. Room was comfortable. All basic amenities were present in the room like TV, hot water, double bed, and well maintained toilet. Complimentary breakfast was given by the hotel. Food quality and taste was good. Sighting facility was not arranged by the hotel. I did book a car for sighting. This hotel is recommendable and worth money paid. I visited this place with my family. Pick and drop facility was not provided by the hotel.
Stay at the hotel was nice. It was a three-star hotel. Location was best. Appearance of the hotel was fine. Booking was done directly and there was no problem that I have to wait to get the room there. Staff services were perfect. Rooms were maintained and spacious. TV, geyser, everything were available in the room. Food was delicious. Both veg and non-dishes were served in this hotel but I took only veg food there. Pick-up and drop facility was available. Complimentary breakfast was given. There was no outdoor activity available. I went there with my family in the month of October 2013. Srinagar is a good place for other travelers. It was a relaxation trip.
It is a better hotel anywhere in area. It was located conveniently nearby the market area. Staff behaved professionally in this hotel. They were friendly and cooperative. They served on time. Veg and non-veg both types of food were available and it was tasty. Look wise from outside and inside the hotel was beautiful. Rooms were spacious, neat, and maintained. Pillows and bed sheets were in clean condition. AC, TV, refrigerator, and geyser were available in working condition. I made booking through travel agent. They provided fun activities but we are going for sightseeing trip. I visited there in December last year along with my family for relaxation trip. The location of the hotel was excellent. Booking and front office was up to the mark. No delay in check in and check out.
