Gulbarga Fort Overview

Ranked 4 of 10 sightseeing in Gulbarga

Gulbarga Fort is constructed in Islamic style of architecture, by a feudatory of the Orangal Kakatiyas, Raja Gulchand. It is believed that the fort was fortified by Alauddin Bahman, after Gulbarga became the capital of the Bahmani Dynasty.

The premises of the fort encompass numerous ancient buildings, mosques, temples and  stables. There are various other structures, like towers and ammunition dumps, present within the fort. Historical place

Gulbarga Fort is located nearby to Khwaja Banda Nawaz dargah. This Fort is not properly maintain the wall of the fort is also in very bad condition but then also you can also enjoy a lot in this fort. You can visit any time in a year except rainy season you can easily visit by road ways and railway as well. Yes you can wear footwear there is not such restriction and you can carry food to eat.

Fort in bad shape

It must be very nice and royal once upon a time but now only memories remain. ASI has taken control of it but still it is in bad shape. There is only one security guard for this 74 acre property.Facilities like park, light and sound show be provided so that people would know about history of this monument. Clean and hygienic drinking water and some eatables be there so that people would spend more time and understand our rich culture.

Only Fort in the heart of City

I visited to Gulbarga in the month of October 2014 for the first time and I have asked my colleagues to show me the Gulbarga City. After visiting the Khwaja Bande Nawaz Dargah we have went to see the Fort which is situated in the heart of the Gulbarga City. The entrance gate of the fort is too big when I enter the fort I have seen a Mosque and other tombs. Rehabilitation work is going on in the Gulbarga Fort. Overall a good place to see in Gulbarga.
