Beautiful Fall

This is a very beautiful place to visit in Chikmagalur. You need to pass through dense forests and cross streams in order to reach this place. The ride and the journey was amazing. You get to enter a dense jungle while going to th

Beneath the falls

I was here with my friends on 12 March, 2017,Hebbe Falls is situated about 10 km away from the famous hill station Kemmangundi(around 44 Km from Chikmaglur Town) in Karnataka, India. The best way to reach here is by own vehicle, the route is scenic with some turns and narrow roads. But the roads are well maintained. There's a checkpost to the TIGER RESERVE (but didn't spotted) where you've to pay for the entry, but you're not allowed to take your own vehicle or even walk through the protected area. However, there are many 4x4s around which will take you through a private coffee estate to some place near the falls. It's a 11km trip through non existent roads. Takes around 45 Minutes but it was a scenic drive through a series of peaks with lots of ups and downs :-). Be prepared for a dusty drive. The cost of hiring the vehicle is Rs. 3, 200 for 8 people. Now, You've to walk a km or so after where the 4x4s drop you to reach the falls. And for me this part was really awesome;with tress all around and passing through numerous clear water streams with pebble bed before reaching the falls. Will suggest you to wear slippers instead of shoes. Now Comes the most awaited Hebbe Falls, You will be mesmerized by the sight of the GIANT and roaring Hebbe Falls. There's a small pond created by the falling water which is accessible, and could be entered to take a Bath. The pool under the falls weren't deep (1. 5m at max) and so you can walk/swim through it. Huge rocks are present, so don't think about diving. The rocks were really slippery. Slipped and fell and luckily stayed uninjured. The water was icy cold even in the middle of the day.So carry an extra pair of clothes if you want to enjoy a freezy dip.Alsoon the way you can see the Z POINT, which is for trekking route. After this follow the same route and reach the JEEP point. And rest all will be a wonderful memory you carry.

Best waterfalls

This is one of the best waterfalls I ever saw. This is waterfalls were located in Tiger reserve. Reaching there is quite difficult. We can't go by our private or own vehicle. Once reaching nearest point, then we need to hire a jeep. Jeep might charge around 1000 Rs. The way we go by jeep is mud road and steeps. So a bit bumpy and slippery rides. They will alight us at point which is around 1. 5-2 kms away from falls. Then we need to go by walk. You feel like walking in a forest. Greenery, trees, ponds all the way. I love this place very much. We can enjoy a lot.Unfortunately now this place is closed as there are poachers in Tiger reserve. When I went to Chikmagalur again, it was closed.

A must see falls but careful with the leeches

Worth a visit but the only obstacle you face is to reach this place. You will need to cross 8-10 Coffee estates, then a 2km trek. Tiring but worth a visit.Note: Beware of Leeches.

Risky travel

We had really a tough journey to reach Hebbe falls in jeep. The fall is good but, it's not worth to take such a great pain for a simple falls. Safety is question here.

Cold water to enjoy

You need to avail a Jeep from the Home stay you check in. I stayed at Last Resort & they arranged the Jeep trip to Hebbe Falls. The road was muddy and during rains it's thrilling to ride. It will take around 30 mins to reach & another 30 mins to reach the falls. Once you reach the falls you will feel its worth riding all the way. The water is ice cold & its one heck of an experience to cherish for lifetime. Go with your friends & enjoy.

Less fee, good place

After baba budan giri, you can visit this place, where you can take bath. Better to visit in daytime before 4pm, so that you can take bath without worrying the cold. Bring food and waters. Take some woollen cap and shorts also, so that you can enjoy bath and warm up your body after that. Fee is only 2.Rs to entry this location, I think they are taking just for cleaning purposes.

Trekking between the forest and waterfalls

One of the most beautiful places to visit. You need to trek for minimum of two Kilometre in wild forest. But the height of relief which you will get after reaching the falls cannot be explained. It is a must visit place.

Adventurous place

This place is adventurous. But we have to walk a lot to this place and it is inside the area of tiger safari. We need to hire a jeep to go to this place. But security in this place is bad. Apart from this , Hebbe Falls is very beautiful. Water falls is awesome. Had a very good time. Must go place.
