First things the resort takes its name quite seriously. From the moment you divert from the highway and take the rural route to the point you are just outside the resort gate, there are absolutely no signboards directing you to the resort. When I brought this up with the owner, he seemed to be fine with not having any signboards as they wanted the resort to live up to its name Village'. Fair enough as long as you have faith in your GPS that will show you the exact coordinates of the resort irrespective of the feeling that you are lost . Other than the hidden part, they also take the part in the name quite seriously. Everything from the ambience, rooms, restaurant, food, pool and the overall feel of the resort has an authentic village touch to it. Nothing is exotic but nothing is dull either. Modesty is the word! The rooms have all basic amenities from AC, hot water, fridge to TV but the interiors are not fancy or the bed is not plush. The food have a 7-course spread but is decent wholesome homemade village cuisine. The swimming pool is not the swanky tiled-type but a simple cemented flooring one - that stop you in enjoying a cool dip. Also it's covered by a net above that prevents tree leaves and other stuff to fall into the pool and contaminate the water (a simple thing that even the best resorts need to implement). So if you are expecting a posh, up-class, wifi-room resort - this is not the place for you. But if you truly want to disconnect from city life and enjoy nature and experience the village life just at the periphery of the city, this is the perfect place for you !. The rooms are spread over some acres of land with small ponds, bridges and cliffs in the way that gives a picturesque village feel to it. There is a natural waterfall that flows through July to November and culminates in a rock pond that has small fishes giving you pedicure absolutely free of cost. There is a game zone with pool table, carom, table-tennis, etc . We were there for just a day stay (10am - 6pm) and at Rs 2300 they served us breakfast, lunch and high-tea with the room which is good value for money. There are hardly any resorts with only day-stay facilities, so amongst that Village' seems like a blessing. I assume that night stay in the resort would have a different feel to it. What I loved the most is that every room has a spacious veranda with a cot and relaxing chairs where possibly you would love to spend more time with your friends and family than inside. Also there are speakers outside each room playing soothing 90s music all the time (you can turn it off if you are uninterested) . On the flipside, the resort offer basic room service though on special request they did serve us tea at the room. Something as basic as coffee was not included in breakfast or hi-tea and was available only on purchase. The Bath fittings could have been smoother in operation. The good part though is that the entire staff was happy to attend, not tip-hungry and the resort made us feel comfortable by not resorting to stringent terms and conditions laid out by almost every resort of late that often makes you feel whether you have come to enjoy or obey . At just 2 hours from Mumbai (80-100, you can experience nature at its best (monsoon is a good time to visit). Hidden Village is worth a visit!
Once my friend suggested me to visit 'Hidden Village'. Before that I never heard about this place. Then we planned to visit Hidden village. And it was realy a great trip I ever had. It's a very pleasant place to reduce your hectic schedule, trust me!! Food, room service and ambiance was really awesome. Guys, must visit this place, you won't regret.
Everything very ordinary. Rooms not good, food is terrible, no choices at all. Surrounding may be good only in rainy season. Overall, an ordinary experience. Too far from Mumbai. Please do not waste your time. Moreover, the owner of the place, when I wrote a review on a similar site, did not take the criticism well. The people there have no intention in taking feedback and improve on it.
Good hotel, clean room, good hotel services, good homely food, veg non veg prepared by villagers on fire, clean hotel, big rooms, light fluctuation, cool climate, carry warm clothes, clean washrooms, breakfast Rs. 100/- per person, unlimited food, good playground and library.
Enjoyed being away from the stressful city life. Away from work and city rush. Had good time with family and my pet. Concept of village is good. No complaints of food and stay. Service was fine. Had a new experience. Will return back soon.
This is one of the place under the woods truly hidden under forest with an artificial waterfall and rooms designed on tree tops. This will give you a feeling of staying on a safari. The sound of water and the greenery all around is what makes this place interesting.
Very good place to go when you want to relax and get away from city's hustle bustle life. Refreshing weather and awesome location which is reachable from Thane in 1 hr Really good place to visit, great food and very friendly staff. Nice ambience, felt like we are really in a village enjoying the scenery and pleasant sound of water and everything was so natural, it's just class. Excellent services offered by staff. Everyone should go at least once to visit hidden village.
As the name stays its truly a hidden village with a welcome entrance of bamboo trees. The whole ambience is that of a proper village with cow dung smeared floor in the dining area, lots of hens, duck and rabbits roaming around. The food too is of typical local style very tasty and yummy. There is also a swimming pool with water from the nearby lake which was the best part of this place as we spent a lot of time playing in water in the hot summer. Apart from this there is a small stream of water running across a small bridge under which we can get a fish pedicure for free. Coming to the rooms which look like normal village rooms but inside they are furnished with all the modern equipments like AC, TV, fridge etc which makes it a pleasant stay. All in all I like to say it was a welcome change for me and my family away from the busy city life.
True to its name, set in the rustic interiors, it is a superb getaway for the weekends from Mumbai. The rooms are just the right amount luxurious and the service, prompt. Food served is good and light on the tummy. The game area is equipped with a foosball table, pool table, carrom boards and a t table. There is a pool too if you'd like to take a dip. There is a small pond that they've made and there are pedicure fishes in it! Fish pedicure for free! Relax your way through the afternoon with your feet dipped into the pond as the fish nibble their way to give you a neat pedicure About 10mins away from hidden village is a lake where you can hang out in the evening and relax. The bathrooms are clean and there's hot water available 24x7. It should be amongst your must see places if you're looking for a relaxed weekend getaway!
I had gone there with my family in the month of July 2014. Behaviour of the staff members was very cooperative and services were also on time. I paid 4300 rupees for one day. Room was neat, clean and well maintained. All basic amenities were available like geyser, etc but TV and AC were not available in the room. Greenery view was visible from the room window. Many types of room were available there. Complimentary breakfast they served. Quality and taste wise, the food was very good. Indoor games were available there but I did not see other activities like swimming pool, etc. Overall my stay in the hotel was nice. I can recommend this hotel to other travellers. Everything was good. I have no suggestion for hotel improvement. The maintenance of the hotel was very nice. They have their own on-line portal/website and all real pictures are displayed on the website. It is nice for new travellers to have a glimpse of the hotel before they decide to stay in here.
