We were on a 10 day -journey paid by employer - type holiday, the three of us, my wife and our college going daughter along with me. Our intention was to see and enjoy nature in one of the farthest and most virgin part of our country; on a medium budget. We had booked the place through our travel agent ; who in turn, had booked through ibibigo. Suffice it to say that the place was excellent. It is a new property located on the main road in what's called Haddo area of port Blair. Autos are available for going to any part of the city by just stepping out of the hotel. Property upkeep was very good. Service was also good. The person in charge 'Nizam' is such a decent and helpful chap with whom you always like to talk. He guides you about the places of interest and how best to go there. He also helped us book the ferry to havelock. Housekeeping was excellent. The room tv didn't work: (flat panel had damaged screen. )What mattered most to us was the food. We being vegetarians had limited choice outside but the food provided by the hotel was of very good quality and compared to the quality the price was reasonable, ( but room served glass of low fat milk cost 60, which seemed pricey. Overall tea and milk cost at 40 and 60 was high. )Although quality was invariably good. Quantity of food was always more than enough. We stayed at 2 other places in port Blair over the next 8 days but food here was better than any other place in the town. (Our view is confined to vegetarian food served by them. )We didn't bother about activities offered by the hotel as we were interested in 'nature 'and not other artificial things. There are small eating joints around, which one can always find useful. Hotel has WiFi but you have to come to the reception lounge to make any use of it. Hotel needs to provide a printed brochure to tourists who ask for it so that one can easily find things to do and places to see in the vicinity.
I had been to Port Blair in January and stayed at this hotel, the location was good and pickup facility was provided by the hotel. The hotel is close to market area and services are good. The food was not that great, it was only basic and only vegetarian food was available. The ambience of the hotel was fantastic and room given was spacious and very well maintained with all the required amenities. There was no problem in check-in or check-out procedure. I did not notice any activity or games at the hotel but sightseeing trip was offered. The hotel was quite expensive but considering the services it was worth it.
