Dint enjoy the overall experience during the stay. The first dissatisfaction experience started with dinner at the hotel. Just one restaurant downstairs - the menu comes across very limited and confusing compels you to chose from buffet which is very steeply priced for the spread offered Of course the value has to match the brand image of Hilton, but still was not really convinced with the spread. Ordered for pizza, which was again very mediocre. One needs to take care, if the menu is restricted, you have to score points with the good quality food. Ordered a Mulligatawny soup which again tasted blandly like a normal Dale khichdi (yes, you heard that right - Dale khichdi). Lots of black pepper in a Dale was really what was offered here as a soup. The saving grace here was the helpful staff - they came ahead understood my concern (including the chef coming on my table and having a conversation with me). Full marks to the service of the team there, but was not convinced with the food at all At the same time, the breakfast included in my stay was really good - mix of south Indian ( idli, dosas, pongs rice) and North Indian (parathas) delicacies. Disappointment here continued with the tea - was expecting a nice strong masala chai which turned out to be a "watery less milked chai" The place also has a rooftop restaurant claiming a beautiful birds eye view of the city - unfortunately this was closed for reservation. Again disappointed Quality of the rooms, mediocre again with negative marks on cleanliness - stains on the carpet, bathroom floorings having unfinished cemented corners of the glass shower doors Overall, you have a very helpful team with not-so-great product to offer. This was supposed to be a weekend getaway for us as a couple. The rooms were well appointed. The staff cheerful and courteous. The breakfast menu was a good spread, but the dishes were a different thing altogether - oscillating from the average to the awful. A warning to hotels that get rated poorly, courtesy their restaurants - to me, a reminder not to try South Indian fare in most restaurants in North India Incidentally, that week they had a Kerala food festival on and we went in on the last day (Saturday). Being a Malayali, an above average cook myself, I was aghast at the spread on the buffet. The chef, (a Mallu one at that) must've hated Kerala cuisine with a passion (armed with the knowledge that none in the hotel had an inkling of Kerala cuisine) to come up with a hotchpotch of disaster, with his improvisation I was under the impression that a food festivals of sorts dedicated to a specific cuisine, should showcase its uniqueness and remain as faithful to the original as possible to produce an accurate portrayal / presentation The food was an abomination whichever way one looks at it. My partner, a Punjabi who loves South Indian food found it revolting in its taste. An example would illustrate the facts better. Thermal is a traditional mallu preparation that does not tolerate improvisation, and is prefixed by the vegetable added to it, namely Ulli thermal (a preponderance of shallots), (Pavakka or Bitter gourd Thermal (sauteed bitter gourd is the key ingredient here) and so on But Mushroom as a principal vegetable in Thermal was stretching my palate's tolerance to it limit. Ruining it further was the nauseous aroma and flavour of raw coriander powder. The acrid taste of fenugreek made it obnoxious. It is around this time, that I realized the intensity of the chef's dislike for the cuisine. Every dish was painstakingly concocted with the explicit purpose of maligning the cuisine. Both of us scampered away to the relative safety of omelettes and the dessert spread The F&B manager came to inquire about our experience and I went to town. Halfway through, he informed that the chef had vamoosed for the day. He was a novice on the cuisine and wanted to know what was wrong. I responded by saying that the chef be booked under TADA - Food Terrorism, for his hate campaign and decimation of Kerala cuisine. To facilitate his understanding, I asked him If he has heard of potatoes, mushrooms or any other vegetables being added to Dale makhani and served in a Punjabi food festival. These are recipes which do not tolerate improvisation, especially when presented as part of a regional cuisine. He got the message. Folks, be warned and if possible try to get an expert on the cuisine or a foodie to accompany you when you eat out in restaurants that fetishes a region.
This is a typical business hotel located on a decently busy road at Baani square Gurgaon. It is away from the busy part of the city. Staff is friendly and helpful. Rooms are of decent size, fairly clean if not spotless, has prompt service, and have good WiFi connectivity. They do not have a mini bar in the rooms though The restaurant was a bit disappointing in terms of service. Even though the food was good, the service and the crowd does not match up to expectations from a five star property.
The stay in Hilton Garden Inn in Gurgaon was good and the destination was good. The location of the hotel was good and reached without any problem. The appearance of the hotel was good. The room stay was not so spacious and maintained clean with all basic amenities were provided. No delay in check-in and check-out. No activities were provided. The food quality was good but it was not in reasonable rates. The services of the staff in the hotel were good and helpful with quick response. The stay was value for money and it can be recommendable others to stay.
Party facility is good. Dinner arrangement is good. Room condition very good. Hotel staff is supportive. Location is good but way some difficult. Parking area should be change according to place.
I was on a short business visit to Gurgaon and stayed in Hilton Garden Inn. Thoroughly enjoyed the ambience. A very peaceful and pleasant safe place for business and leisure travel. The location was very good. Not very far from Airport and easy to find. The front desk was especially courteous in resolving some confusion that occurred while checking in. As a guest we felt very comfortable as guests are given special care by the entire hotel staff. The food was served in a very professional way. There pastry shop is just out of the world, amazing, variety, and experimental. The breakfast buffet was very appetizing and nutritious. All in all a memorable stay. Would stay again when I visit Gurgaon.
