The appearance of the hotel was good. There was no activity arranged by the hotel. There was no sightseeing at the hotel. The overall experience of the hotel was good. The best part of the hotel was the staff behaviour. The staff were well behaved in the hotel. There was all the facility provided in the room in working condition.
I, along with my family of wife and two kids had planned this trip to Sikkim and we had a change of plans while leaving Gangtok, where we decided to visit Pelling instead of moving on to Darjeeling. To be honest, the change was suggested by our driver himself and we are still thanking him for that. Pelling, otherwise, was not in our scheme of things for that particular vacation Anyway, since it was unplanned, we landed up in Pelling in the night around 8ish and had to hunt around for a hotel. The hotel that the driver was familiar with, unfortunately was under renovation and therefore did not have rooms. As a result, we were forced to look for another and Hotel Dubdi was just next door. Since the stay was just for the night and we planned to leave early morning the next day, it didn't really matter much except for looking for a room decent enough to sleep in Reception: Staff was extremely courteous and we were easily able to check-in. Guests are advised to carry identification, especially all adult guests since I had to search for a bit to get my wife's identification and hand over for verification. Don't blame the hotel for that, just something need getting used to Room: The room was decent with one bed and sufficient blankets. However, with four of us, we did feel a bit cramped overall. No extra bedding was provided. I guess that would count as a negative. The room provided a view of the Kanchenjunga, if weather is clear. Bathroom was clean and well maintained. Warm water was also available 24 hours Food: The hotel does not cater for food and we were forced to walk around 300m before we could locate a restaurant serving. Quite an inconvenience, especially in the night. The road leading to our hotel too was unlit and walking in the night was quite tedious, albeit Sikkim being one of the safest places we have visited till date in India Overall experience: Considering we were looking for just a place to crash for the night, it is quite a decent location. The room is quite good especially for a couple. Would have been better if a room heater had been provided but I guess at the budget that I was offered the room, couldn't have asked for more. Don't mind recommending the stay, especially since it is located hardly any distance from Pelling centre, again away from the major hustle bustle (whatever limited that exists) as a location, is not to be missed. Be sure to travel as early as possible so that you have tourist locations to yourself as much as possible. Kanchenjunga waterfalls should not be missed as also Temi tea gardens. Most places do take some amount of travel between each so be prepared to spend a considerable amount of time in the vehicle. Having said that, each spot is as beautiful, if not more, than the next. Definitely plan Pelling if you are visiting Gangtok.
Hotel Dubdi is an amazing hotel. Actual apple-pie and the account actual cordial. You get a acceptable appearance of the hilmalayas from the balustrade at anniversary floors . . Mr. Mingma at the Reception board is actual nice and accessible. Food is as well actual nice at their Restaurant, The Manager is actual alive and appropriately the auberge is maintained actual well. This auberge is recommended to all affectionate of tourists.
I stayed at Hotel Dubdi on 09 May 2015 while going from Uttarey to Yuksom. It was my second visit to Pelling. My earlier visit was in December 2012. The view of Mt. Kangchenjunga from my hotel room was superb. The receptionist at the front desk could recognize me (by a correct guess or anticipation) even before I alighted from my car! He was very friendly and helpful Another good point about this hotel was its food. I took non-vegetarian food. The portions were good as well as the taste and quality. I did not expect such good continental food at Pelling Overall, I enjoyed my stay at Hotel Dubdi and recommend it to my friends and fellow travellers without any reservation. It is slightly above a budget hotel in terms of cost. Kanchendzonga and the food make it a good choice.
Hotel accommodation is very good. Hospitality & staff behaviour is also good. Kanchanchanga view position is very beautiful. Food cost is very high. Food taste is not good as compare to cost & time taken for preparation. Better to taken foods from outside hotel. This is one are to improve.
This place was visited only because we had wanted a place to spend the night, having had a change of plans midway through our Sikkim trip. The hotel is located quite close to Pelling centre (approx 300 m). However, the road to the hotel is unlit and can be difficult to walk on, especially in the night. Do make sure you carry a torch in case you want to walk on this path. The hotel itself is decent and worth the stay. They were kind enough to accommodate us at the last minute and we ended up spending just one night there. The next morning, we were off on our sightseeing trip to Pelling. The room provides view of Kanchenjunga on a clear day. Overall, decent stay.
